Vasko’s On Park — Restaurant in City of Rochester

This was by far the worst plate I have ever had. It doesn’t even deserve one star. It was bad to the point of being inedible. I got a combo plate with a cheeseburger and red hot. Both had an overwhelming burnt flavor. The pasta in the mac salad was severely overcooked and the mac salad as a whole was watery which in turn made the plate more like garbage plate soup which you can see in the attached picture. It seemed as if maybe the mac salad was old and leftover. The home fries were cooked ok but weren’t salted and lacked any kind of flavor. I also got beans on the side because I was sharing the plate with someone else who didn’t want beans. The beans were served ice cold. I’m not sure who in their right mind would want to eat beans that way. The meat sauce lacked any kind of flavor, even basic seasoning like salt and pepper. How disappointing that there wasn’t a single element of this plate that was good. We had to immediately throw it out and go get food from somewhere else. Vasko’s never disappoints! Everyone is friendly and very welcoming. It’s a walking distance from where I live and it’s convenient if you’re feeling a chicken finger plate or even a chocolate shake!!! VERY DELICIOUS 😊

UPDATE

Back at it again at Vasko’s—because self-control is overrated. This place is basically our second home at this point. We walked in hungry and left in a food coma, no regrets.

Hubby went full comfort mode with the chicken finger plate—he was silent for most of the meal, which is how I know it was good. I got the Park’s Burger with fries and honestly? That burger deserves its own fan club. Juicy, cheesy, then add an onion ring… omw my gosh, it’s perfect. And then we shared a chocolate/vanilla shake, we made room for that! Even when they’re slammed with orders, the staff is still smiling and welcoming. It’s the kind of place where you can show up in sweats and still feel like you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be.

Vasko’s, you’re the reason my jeans are tight and my heart is full....

I had heard great things and was excited to try out their plates and shakes, and while they were certainly decent, they didn't wow my wife and I. Shakes were alright, but perhaps a bit bland. Plates were lacking much flavor as well, not much bite to the meat sauce, Mac salad was pretty standard, fries were a bit soggy (though again, I ordered delivery, so that is not on them). I really love garbage plates and shakes, so I always seek out new places to try. And while I was not necessarily disappointed by Vasko's, I was a bit underwhelmed after all the good things I had heard about it.
