The atmosphere and decor are extremely inviting and scream the City of Rome. I love the color scheme and location. It is centralized in the downtown district, nestled next to the Capitol Theater, City Hall and other storefronts. At first, I couldn't tell if there was anyone in the coffee shop because the windows in the front were heavily fogged up. Once I entered, the hostess quickly took my order and made my way to the seating area. I was served my order quickly. The coffee was both delicious and beautiful. However, my cappuccino was cold and not warm/hot at all. The seating at the front of the shop is awkwardly close to each other. It could make for a snug and uncomfortable experience. I sat on the side with the window view of the corridor between coppercino and Boyz of Italy. The corridor is not a great view, and something should be done to make it aesthetically pleasing to visitors. Maybe allowing local artists to come in and graffiti the corridor with landscapes and artwork that accentuate the city.
After a while of doing some school work, I started to get cold sitting near the windows. I do think the coffee shop should be heated better, especially during our cold fall and winter months. The Wi-Fi service was exceptional providing both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. A speed test on the 5 GHz band resulted in ~70 Mbps at around 8:52 PM EST on 11/7/2018. That is WAY better than speeds I have received at other coffee shops around the city. I would say you could quickly come and do some awesome online gaming while sipping on a delicious cup of coffee. Let's talk prices. I bought a regular, and it was pretty significant compared to other places that serve coffee. To be fair though, I didn't take a picture of it to show and that is my fault. I paid $3.50, which I believe is competitive with other coffee places. I lived in Virginia for 2.5 years and would quickly pay $4.00 a cup of coffee three times a day. Others could argue that if they lowered their coffee a little, they would have a lot more customers. I agree, but I acknowledge the other benefits of coming into Coppercino. I suggest everyone come in and make this their regular spot when in the downtown Rome area. I have a lot more to say, but I think this review is long enough for now. If you are interested in other ideas that I have, let's make...
Read moreFirst off I want to explain my 2 stars . This was my third time returning for lunch. I was a little disappointed on this visit. Not about the service because I find everyone friendly and accommodating. Also no complaints on the food because it’s always delicious. I was disappointed to see a dog walking around with its owner when I first walked in to order. The owner then picked the dog up in their arms almost on the counter where the desserts are all displayed. After trying to ignore all of this we sat outside because the dog and it’s owners were inside the area with the glass enclosure. We were served and tried eating as we swatted bees and tried to tune out the barking dog who was not on a leash and was wandering . We did not have the option of moving inside as I have asthma and am highly allergic to dogs. I do wish that maybe there was a designated area for people with pets. I feel like it is not only a health issue for someone who suffers from asthma like myself but for health reasons as far as cleanliness also. Disappointed but I will return. I will probably end up getting to go orders...
Read moreAmazing hot chocolate. Tasty food, but hard to tell the size/portion you will get when ordering. I ordered a caprese salad for lunch. It was delicious, but I didn't realize it was the size of a coffee saucer ( basically 2 rows of tomato and cheese on a saucer with balsamic drizzle). I ended up sharing my mom's nachos, which were also tasty.
There was also some inaccuracies in how our food came out. My husband ordered the wedge salad and specifically asked for no balsamic. The same person who took our order made our food ( you can see into their prep area), and his salad came out covered in balsamic. They did remake it when it was brought to their attention, but seemed confused at the request. Perhaps a ticket system of some kind would help with that communication.
The place itself is beautiful and relaxing. There is very little noise, and there is no push to turn tables. I would go back...
