I came here for my birthday a few months ago with my friends, and I was so excited to come as a major fan of cats. However, when I got there I was met with disorganization and the few seats that were available were taken over by the owner's arts and crafts, which is understandable I get its a small space and they were nice enough to move it for us. The cat themed décor, I liked a lot and the set up of the counter to order and the food case had a nice aesthetic but it felt unfinished with what to be several unfinished projects around the small space. I got a lemon basil scone and London Fog tea that was pretty good, but the owner was extremely stressed out making it a very awkward and uncomfortable environment to be in. Some cups/dishware got smashed behind the counter and they were talking about how they should just quite and close, practically had a breakdown, which just furthered the awkwardness. Hopefully they are doing better now :) The cats were really cute, but the room looked like it wasn't cleaned or vacuumed in a while. The cats themselves had eye boogies and also looked like they haven't been brush in a while too. The cat's water fountain also looked like it wasn't cleaned in a while as well. Maybe it was just a bad day in general for this establishment, but I don't think I will be coming back in the future.
Tltd: Good scones, mediocre tea, very stressful environment, disorganized, wouldn't come back, not worth the price,...
Read moreI love this place! We booked a 1-hour spot in the cat lounge, and while we didn't get any food or drinks, everything looked delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful. Before they opened, we saw the staff member who was inside walking around putting down treats for the cats, which was so fun to watch!
We felt very safe with COVID restrictions. Everything was clean, and all guests had to sanitize their hands before and after going into the cat lounge. They have an "ask about the mask" policy, where if you're fully vaccinated, all you need to do is ask if they want you to wear your mask. They said we didn't have to, but we chose to put ours on when some other customers entered the cat lounge with us.
The kitties were so playful! Some were a little skittish around the people, but they love (LOVE) the feather toys. The staff warn against picking up the cats since it can set some of them off, which was a perfectly normal boundary to set and everyone followed it. They have a ton of books about cats, binders full of stories about their past adoptions, and the whole place looks like a great hangout for the animals. They all looked happy and healthy, which was wonderful to see.
For only $9 per person to hang out with a bunch of cats for an hour, that was definitely money well spent. I'll be coming back here every time I go to Syracuse! Definitely...
Read moreThis was my first time visiting, but it won't be my last! Everyone was super nice, and the kitties were so adorable! I was there for the holiday drag brunch, and it was such a great event! I had been to drag shows before, but never a cat cafe, and my friend had been to cat cafes (Pawsitivitea specifically!) before, but never a drag show, so it was a really nice experience for us. The cats were so fun, and it was also really nice to be in a space with other people who "get" cats. Not to get too metaphysical about it, but I think cats demand a type of presence that isn't the norm in most other places in our culture. It's nice to be around other people (and kitties!!) who really value being calm, respectful, and mindful of boundaries and subtle communication. It's very peaceful - and the good food and drink certainly help too! I really appreciated that everyone was so conscious of dietary restrictions too. It was on the sign-up form, and they asked me again at the counter. Everyone was really, really serious about not accidentally serving someone something that they can't or don't want to eat or drink. I'm lactose intolerant and have definitely been dosed with full milk in some coffee places, so it's very noticeable to me when people are careful about it. Thanks everyone, and I'll see you again soon! Kiss the...
