I came out to NY from California to have a baby shower with family and friends. I had a cake from California that the frosting was damaged in transit and I asked them if they could please help me repair it. They were nice to even be open to the idea of even helping me as most places will only work with a cake made by them. Issue came when I showed them the cake and a woman said she would take it back to show the baker to see what he could do. She came back and told me $35 to fix the frosting. Mind you the cake only cost $40 in the first place. I told her that $35 was too much and I will keep my cake as is. She left and came back and said how about $30? I said no, thank you. She then brought me back my cake without frosting. They took it off before we had eve agreed on if their price would be acceptable. Then she was very nasty and told me that I was trying to make problems for her. That I came in with my cake in need of repair and I was trying to pass my problems onto her. I am a very courteous person. Polite, considerate and I have worked in food service as well as customer service for 20 years. The way I was treated and spoken to was absolutely horrendous. I would have never treated a person or customer the way that they did. I felt like she was trying to impose stereotypes on me and was upset that they didn't fit for her to get a reaction out of me that would justify her horrible treatment. I write nice reviews as well as bad. If it was possible I would give them no stars. The customer service, maturity and experience is unreal! I would have been fine if she would have said, "I'm so sorry. They started the work before I told them to. What can we do to make this okay?" I don't understand how frosting costs $30??? I didn't have a difficult design or anything. Just needed a smooth cake. Esa mujer que trabaja alli no tiene verguenza. Me trataron mal y en una manera terrible. Nadie se lo merece. Especialmente alguein como yo que siempre trata y habla con carino y respecto. Un negocio nunca debe tratar a sus clientes asi.

On April 1st 2025 I contacted Coco Choco to order a gender reveal cake. I was told to message a number and proceeded with my order, requesting a 12 inch heart shaped cake with white icing and colored cake inside. Instead of confirming, the woman kept insisting on the number of servings, even though I made it clear I only cared about the size NOT the number of servings! . She then just moved on with the conversation asking me questions like what flavor I wanted, if I wanted the icing to reveal the gender etc etc. Since she never brought up the cake size again I assumed she agreed to make the 12 inch cake I requested. Fast forward to the day my friend was supposed to drop off the gender envelope.. I messaged at 4.10 pm asking for the price. She clearly told me $150 and said cash only.. which I had no issue with. My friend withdrew cash from the bank and arrived at the bakery by 5pm only to be told the cake was now $200. How does the price change by $50 in less than an hour? When I confronted her with screenshots of our conversation she refused to acknowledge her own messages. Instead of owning up to the mistake she came up with a lame excuse about how I was placing my order "late" and that they usually require two weeks notice. Funny how this was never mentioned when I first called or messaged!!! If it was an issue, why accept my order in the first place????? Instead of taking responsibility she basically told me "If you’re not happy go elsewhere." She had a nasty attitude, completely dismissing my request and refusing to take any accountability. The lack of professionalism, misleading pricing, and refusal to communicate properly were beyond frustrating! I would never recommend this place to anyone looking for reliable service.

Got my brothers wedding cake from coco choco bakery! I am peruvian so I thought getting a Peruvian cake would be excellent. We spoke to the owner personally on how we wanted the cake. She even lowered the price of the cake to negotiate with us. She also gave us a big piece of cake to taste. We ordered the bottom 2 tiers peruvian tres leches & the top dulce de leche. The tres leches was so yummy! Everyone at the wedding was fighting to get another piece! We did have a little trouble with the delivery but I’m letting it slide since the cake itself did come out beautifully and the delivery services aren’t done by the bakery it self. This is my new favorite peruvian bakery!! Finally I found an authentic peruvian bakery

Horrible experience with the owner! I frequent this bakery and buy cakes by the slice I have not had a complaint except for the inconsistency in the bakes goods. Which I have overlooked as the cake by the slice have always been good. I needed a tres leche and guava cake and my regular baker does not make that combination. I was happy to give a fellow Latina my order and was excited for the flavor combination! The day I placed the order I had pictures and wanted to make sure that my order was simple so I chose buttercream flowers that are piped with a petal tip! much to my surprise I was told that I was asking for an artisanal cake and that the bakery could not do that. I spoke to a beautiful patient lady and asked her to show me the flowers that they could make. I wanted to accommodate them rather than them accommodating me as I was asking them to make a cake only two weeks in advance. Finally, we agreed on style, flavor and accents including colors of flowers and accents! The lady goes to the back and gets a price quote of $150 for a 10 inch round and even asked me if it was ok. Although I knew I was paying double the price of the cake my backup baker was on vacation and I did not want to travel to the Bronx so I decided to pay and said yes. The day before the even at 6:50pm I get a call from the owner alleging that she was confirming the order. I absolutely do not believe that! As she opened the conversation with what color bow do you want? I told her I wanted the bow in gold and she proceeded to lie to me and tell me that I spoke to her when I did the order and never told her gold. Unfortunately for her, my ear is sensitive to pitch , tone and accent I know for a fact that I did not speak to her the day of the order! Naturally, I was not pleased with her trying to insult my intelligence and confronted her. When she saw that I was not going to allow her to lie , rather than being a decent human and professional business owner she threatened not to make my cake. Because I spoke my truth and told her that she should be fair in her pricing and give me a price reduction as she was not capable of doing a gold bow nor piped flowers that I felt it fair that she lower the price as its 10 to 7 the day before the event. The Neanderthal on the phone had the audacity to tell me that she was not charging me a great deal of money and that it was only $150. I said YES! $150 for a 10 inch round which you are threatening me to not make the day before the event because you can not make my flowers and my bow what kind of business person are you?!! It was obvious that this woman is used to belittling and degrading her customers. I was livid! News flash the buyer has a choice and the fact that this Neanderthal does not appreciate that is disgusting! She purposely took an order that she was not capable of making and tried to sabotage my party and insulted me at 10 to 7 the day before the event. To top it of the damn cake imploded! She put too much milk in the center and not enough on the parameters compromising the integrity of the cake and making for an inconsistent and and partially dry cake! How dare she behave like she is the best thing since sliced bread when she sells inconsistent baked goods that implode and embarrasses you the day of your event! And to add insult to injury she tells the patron that their money is insignificant! What an embarrassment to all Latina business owners including myself! She has lost several customers because my guest who happen to be foodies witnessed the disaster of a cake she sold me for $150 and they were disgusted and will not go back to her! The only thing I can say is Buyer beware! Do not give her an order for anything more than a standard cake and pray she makes that right and does not insult your buying power!...

Ordered a custom cake for my son's 2nd birthday a week in advance. They told me I could pick up the cake after 9am on the day of the party. Got to the bakery around 11:30am where I was informed that the cake was not ready because "their ovens had not been working that morning." Ok-- things happen-- but no one called me to notify me of this. If I had been told, I could have made other arrangements. After relaying this disappointment with their customer service, they promised that the cake would be done by 1pm and they would deliver it to me by 1:30pm. My son's party was at a facility that allowed a 2 hour party time. His party was set to end at 2:45pm. Between 1:15pm and 2:15pm, I had to call them 8 times to get updates on the whereabouts of the cake. Each time, I was lied to. They told me "we will find out where the delivery guy is and call you back,"-- never received a call back. Then, they said "he's on his way, he missed the exit." I had to call again about 5 min later "he's circling around, he's really on the way." They gave me the run around each time I called. Until finally, at 2:15pm (my last call to them) I told them I no longer wanted the order, as my son's party had 30 min left, guests had already started to leave & I ended up having to run to grab some desserts at a location nearby. VERY POOR customer service. At no point, did anyone from the bakery call me to give me any updates about my order. I had to continuously take time out from my son's party to call them. At the very least, they should have offered any of the stock cakes they keep in the window, just so I would have had something at the party. I don't believe my cake was ever made. I have ordered from them many times and sent customers their way. I will be sharing this story and taking my...
