When my brother called me and said let's go out to dinner for Easter, I was weary. I have been out to eat on holidays and am never happy. The places are too busy, fixed menu's, service not as good, and food not as good as on a normal day. He said this place has great food and was a nice fancy restaurant as he described it. Because of his opinion I decided to give it a try. They had a fixed menu for $46.95 which included dessert and a salad, and you had a choice of about 10 selected meals. The place was pretty and the food looked good. At this point I was happy I came out. I decided to go traditional Italian and ordered the leg of lamb with mashed potatoes as my meal choice, I ordered shrimp cocktail as an appetizer. The first brought out Was my shrimp cocktail, which was dirty, and I mean dirty. My sister ordered the same, and she proceeded to clean the s__t out of the shrimp before eating. There was no way I was doing that and called the waiter over to have my shrimp sent back. I ordered fried calamari instead and that was actually very good. Salad was next, which was fine, nothing extraordinary, but fine. When my main meal came out the leg of lamb with mashed potatoes looked very good. The lamb was mediocre, to my horror and disappointment the mashed potatoes was instant. My brother called the waiter over to ask about the potatoes and the waiter told us it was instant and mentioned being g busy for the holiday as the reason. I sure wish I would of known that for 46.95 I would of been served Instant potatoes I would of never came. I know of no other fine Italian restaurant that would do this EVEN on a holiday. They seemed annoyed at us, I guess because we also sent the shrimp back. When the waiter called the owner over he offered us no Apology and like I said seemed annoyed. I don't understand why we would of been treated as complainers. I know of no other person that would enjoy dirty shrimp and instant mashed potatoes. Will never go back because of this. Not even a drink on the house for all we spent. Horrible...

Rating: 2/5 stars
I'm extremely disappointed with our recent visit to Buon Amici Italian Restaurant on Valentine's Day. Despite making reservations in advance, our party of 9 was seated at a cramped round table that was clearly meant for a smaller group. We were wedged in between the walkway, constantly getting jostled by servers and other diners throughout the evening.
To make matters worse, the regular menu was unavailable on Valentine's Day, and we were forced to opt for the prefix menu, which was ridiculously overpriced. The prices were more than double what we would normally expect to pay, and the portions were not significantly larger to justify the hike. The only redeeming quality was the option to choose coffee and dessert at the end of the meal, but even that couldn't make up for the lackluster food and poor service.
Speaking of the food, I was underwhelmed by my Black Linguine with seafood, which was supposed to feature a flavorful Sepia Marinara sauce. Unfortunately, the dish was bland and uninspired, with a paltry amount of seafood. The pasta sides on some of our orders looked like they were plated by a child, which was a laughable attempt at presentation.
Overall, our experience at Buon Amici Italian Restaurant was a letdown, and I won't be returning anytime soon. It's clear that the restaurant took advantage of the Valentine's Day rush to gouge their customers with exorbitant prices. If you're looking for a genuine Italian dining experience, I would recommend exploring other options. Unless Buon Amici addresses their pricing and service issues, I wouldn't recommend wasting your money here.
Tips for improvement:
Ensure that tables are allocated based on party size to prevent overcrowding. Offer regular menu options on holidays and special occasions. Reconsider pricing strategy to ensure it's fair and competitive. Improve presentation and plating of dishes. Train servers to be more attentive and mindful of...
Read moreWhen I am in Westchester, Buon Amici is my go to place. Whether it’s dining in, takeout, delivery, catering or a party it is always a five-star experience. There is outside dining available in the tent. Downstairs room for a party. Valet parking available, or you can park at one of the many spots on the street. I have been coming here for over 20 years for dining and business purposes. I’ve gotten to know the owner Chris over that time. Very hands-on whether it’s helping in the kitchen, at the bar, or bussing a table. He’s not afraid to get his hands dirty. He always treats his customers like family.
We stopped in on Christmas Eve. Even on a busy holiday night, the service and food were outstanding. The fried calamari appetizer was crispy and seasoned beautifully. We shared a veal Sorrentino and linguine with shrimp, sun-dried tomatoes in vodka sauce. Veal, prosciutto, and eggplant with cheese is a great combination. Add a delicious sauce and that’s what you have with this dish. The linguine and shrimp had lots of flavor. Scattered sun-dried tomatoes were a nice touch. For dessert we had a piece of rainbow cookie cake. I am usually disappointed when I order this anywhere. The rainbow cookie cake more than met expectation. The chocolate ganache was very rich. If we weren’t full from dinner, I may have ordered another piece. If you are looking for amazing Italian food in Westchester, Buon Amici is the place to go. Five...
