While waiting for blueprints to be printed at staples i decided to grab a quick bite. My dining experience at Grassy Sprain Diner was transformed from ordinary to exceptional, all thanks to Frances, an outstanding server who went above and beyond despite being overlooked by the original server and management. Upon entering the diner, I was initially attended to by another server who seemed preoccupied and disinterested. However, Frances quickly noticed and stepped in to ensure that my needs were met. Despite not being my designated server, she approached with a warm smile and genuine eagerness to assist. Throughout my meal, Frances exhibited an unparalleled level of attentiveness and dedication. Despite the apparent oversight from the original server and management, she made sure to check on me regularly, ensuring my dining experience was nothing short of excellent. Her proactive approach and unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction were truly commendable. What impressed me most was Frances's professionalism and grace in handling the situation. Despite the challenges posed by the oversight, she remained composed and focused on delivering exceptional service. Her genuine care for the customers and passion for her work shined through, making me feel valued and appreciated as a guest. Despite the shortcomings in management and the initial oversight, Frances single-handedly turned my dining experience around, elevating it to a memorable and enjoyable one. Her dedication, professionalism, and outstanding service deserve recognition and praise. It is very rare to see this type of service anywhere in today's service industry. The management can do a bit better to make sure everyone gets treated with the upmost respect everyone deserves. Thank you Frances i will be back to enjoy a meal but better yet your top...

On July 9th, I visited with my in-laws for the first time The food was okay, and the prices were reasonable. I also had my 2-year-old daughter with me, which, as we all know, can be challenging. My daughter is receiving therapy for certain services, and although having a child with special needs is not an excuse for bad behavior, I tried my best to manage the situation when she started throwing food around. The lady serving us noticed and mentioned she would teach my daughter a lesson. She proceeded to blow paper straw pieces from a straw at my daughter, almost hitting her in the eye. I found the situation awkward and have decided not to visit again. She may have intended to be kind, but I perceived it as sarcastic. The situation is quite disappointing, especially considering the individual's age. It is immature and inappropriate to approach a parent without being aware of the child's mental circumstances or knowing the parent personally. I chose not to address it then, as my in-laws were present, and I didn't want to cause a scene or add to the awkwardness. I found myself wondering if the individual handling the food was mentally stable, and I interpreted her behavior as possibly disliking my daughter. It was quite unsettling and alarming when she mentioned teaching my daughter a lesson to my...

We live nearby - and have been going to diners all our lives - decided just this last year to try the Grassy Sprain - which is situated modestly in an unremarkable mini-strip mall on a commercial stretch in North Yonkers . . . and the Grassy Sprain defines "local place" for us: always busy with regular people, old and young, families and retirees, crowded on Sunday mornings - but the defining characteristic is the friendly staff. We're always greeted at the door by (we think) the owner or manager, steered to our seat of choice, attended to right away by a wait-person that is friendly, sometimes abrupt in a loving, seasoned, professional way ("So good morning. . . talk to me" as the pad and pen are poised to take order') . Food is perfectly fine, no surprises, no disappointments, special requests observed, served in a timely way, table revisited often, diners left to linger over plates, talk as they drink their coffee, often visiting with the wait staff regarding family events, relatives, etc. The buzz and activity fostered by a sense of belonging and being made welcome, good warm food, and dependability. The Grassy Sprain is always a reliable destination for a satisfying meal and...

Terrible service, long wait for our food, waiter had high strung mental issues and started screaming at a family yelling that he had six tables and threw their soup on the counter and yelled get another waiter. All the customers gasped. All they did was ask the waiter where is there bowl of soup? The waiter snaped agressively throwing the hot soup on the counter! Never again will we go to the Grassy Sprain Diner, it's radical, it's like One Flew Over the Goo Goo's Nest!!! Do you want people like this touching your food or serving your children? Absolutely Not! The owner stepped out while the waiter went on a violent rampage attacking his regular customers. The customers walked out and so did we. Monday, September 18, 2017

Every day I buy an egg sandwich to go which consists of fried egg, cheese, on a roll (no meat). The sandwich was $6.74. Today I was just informed that my sandwich is now $8 as all their prices were increased on November 11. This is price gauging to the fullest !! I could get the same sandwich from the deli next door or up the block for $4-$5. Interest rates are lower, fuel and oil costs dropped, there’s no shortage of eggs like 2023 .. There’s no reason for such a price hike. I attached a menu from a local deli. There’s definitely some sort of discrepancy between these two establishments.

Been to this diner a few times with the family and they never seem to disappoint me. The was is amazing, the serve is great, the place is great, everything is just great. I haven’t have any bad experience yet and I believe I won’t ever have one. My son fell in love with the oreo blast milkshake. Wife had the avocado toast, it was so good that she wanted to order another order but she was too full. Their steak sandwich is juicy. Love this place. Definitely recommend all the families to come give this place a try. I drive from The Bronx just to go eat here.
