Over the years when in Clarksville we have eaten here, as it makes it easier for everyone in the family to find choices they like.
Usually, it is fairly decent, but this trip, arriving just 15 minutes before they put out the lunch menu foods, I found the food to be overcooked and mushy, or cold. Thinking they were putting out items left over from the night before, we sat and waited awhile for them to replenish the items, yet, it was still no improvement.
The only items I found that were fresh and enjoyable this trip, were the potato/clam chowder and the desserts.
The manager, who was very nice, stated they would put out the deviled eggs later in the day, as well as the ham. The fried chicken only had backs and breasts the entire time we were there.
Overall, I found this visit to the Clarksville location be a great disappointment; unlike their Cookeville location, (which I highly recommend) that has always been outstanding, and has maintained alot of the same staff for years.
Additionally, a special note to Senior attendees, if you are planning to get their "Earlybird Senior's Rate", definitely don't step into the building even 5 minutes early and get in the line to pay.
While they may charge you the "Senior Fee", they will also charge you additionally for your coffee or milk...when during the Earlybird Senior's Rate that "starts right at 11, not 10:55", your drink is supposed to be included in the price.
I observed an elderly couple questioning why their bill cost $10.00 more than usual and the above comment was the response the cashier gave them.
The man stated they would go sit in their car for 5 minutes and come back in, and the cashier told them the price would be the same, because she had already seen them and knew they had arrived before 11:00 a.m. How petty and rude!
So, needless to say, while I will always stop in on their Cookeville location as we are traveling thru town, the Clarksville location will no longer be an option for our family.
Best of luck when you eat at this Clarksville location; it may be...
Read moreI placed a "curbside pickup" order this evening. I arrived at the restaurant a few minutes after the predicted time that the order would be ready. I parked in the "to go parking area" and clicked the "I am here" tab on my confirmation email. I was then redirected to a page that said "thanks for letting us know. We will bring your order out shortly." I then waited 30 minutes past the predicted time, at which point I attempted to call the restaurant. 4 times no one answered, then on the 5th time I explained I had a curbside pickup order. The worker interrupted me and said abruptly, "Yeah, it's ready." To which I replied, "So am I supposed to come in and get it?" They said "yes it's at the front desk." I then explained I chose the curbside pickup option so that I would not have to go inside the restaurant and that the email said someone would be bringing my order out to me, that's why I had been waiting so long. They then replied "I don't know why it said that, most people come in and get their order." Then when I went in to get my order, they helped 2 other groups of people that came in after me before they finally got my food to me. When you place an order online there are 2 options, "pickup" and "curbside." If the curbside option requires you to come inside to pick it up, there should not be a distinction between the two. If I had known my food had been ready and I had to go in to get it, I would not have waited so long. I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt as there were a lot of people coming in and out of the restaurant and I assumed they were working on a lot of orders. If they do not offer curbside pickup where someone brings the food out to your car, they need to change the options and the wording in the confirmation email saying "someone will bring your order out shortly." It is very misleading and I was very disappointed in my food because it had set ready...
Read moreI ate at this restaurant one day the last week of August, and experienced terrible service. We arrived hours before closing but after we had been seated the restaurant shut down hours beforehand due to it being slow. This was a decision made right after we had been bought our drinks- the kitchen was yelling to the front of house staff about the last time a customer had come in, and was heatedly discussing with the manager how many people were still seated and that it was too slow to be open. All of these conversations should be held out of earshot of customers. During this time we overheard a manager telling staff to keep food for reserving the next day (much of this food we wouldn’t eat at all, it looked like it had been sitting for hours- well past it’s prime). Most areas in the restaurant were messy despite the staff saying it had been slow. Food was being taken off the buffet well before we were finished making our plates. If I paid for a buffet, I should have access to the entire buffet, not feel awkward as we approached when the kitchen staff was clearly trying to wrap up and go home. It was incredibly unprofessional as it was clear we were being rushed out. As we were ready to leave, I was unsure of how to tip as we paid with a debit card. I was talking to the other member of my party about how to tip using our debit card when our server came over to give a lecture about how she is not paid in any way but tips and the restaurant doesn’t pay. As I have also worked as a server, I know how this works (low hourly wage + tips) and always tip. However, I find the fact that she was so clearly eavesdropping on our conversation and thought it was appropriate to come over and have an attitude about why we needed to tip her was a bit over the top and rude. Later that night, I became sick. I had been completely okay until eating here. I would never eat...
