Stumbled upon this gem while waiting for a dinner reservation at noori pocha - we were greeted (by Avery) and asked if we had a reservation; we didn’t so I decided to look around the storefront for a bit, while looking a waitress (Dua) came out and cheerfully offered to let us peek inside! What a treat! We entered through the elevator/door into a whimsical craft cocktail bar that changes the theme seasonally. Right now it’s a play on Miami Vice with decor and cocktails to match. We immediately changed our plans to make this bar a part of our night.
Dua escorted us back into the front, where she suggested to-go cocktails and Avery got us booked for 2hrs later to allow us time to finish our dinner. We ordered the lavender lemon drop and firecracker shots - $5 each and they made a full drink over ice - and sat at the high top tables in the open alley/patio area in between the buildings.
2 hrs later…we received a text that our spot was ready!!
So lucky we got a reservation because it’s a popular spot. This is a serious bar with very fun cocktails - the flavors/drink-ware/garnishes are fun and thoughtfully presented. Liquor and syrups are all made in house. Our bartender (Tina) took the time to explain some drinks flavor profiles that we might like based on what we usually drink and said we were looking for. We sat at the bar top and were offered free air popped popcorn as we sat and watched her mix up our cocktails.
My drink (larsa sippen) was strong! A real sipper, very herbal from the gin and lemongrass with touch of spice from the wasabi. My husband’s drink (yacht rock alimony) was “a dessert drink” as he described it with lots of licorice flavor mixed with hints of strawberries and chocolate.
The cocktail prices are fair for the quality of the drinks and I loved that you can pay all online (presented with a little box for your receipt that has a QR code - also opportunity to review your service and drink right in the spot).
I was so thrilled to sit and watch the drinks and shots being served. The whole bar was beautifully decorated - it was somehow dark and cozy, but brightly colored at the same time. We loved the friendly staff, decor and the fact that even if they repeat the theme they always present a new drink menu. This is going to be my favorite date night...
Read moreI was so excited to go to this place after seeing the cool Halloween decor outside. We checked out their website and it states “bar seating first come first serve.” They open at 5:00, so we get there at 5:30 to see if there’s any bar seating and we are put on an hour and a half waitlist. We are fine with waiting, but end up not hearing any status about our reservation after 2 hours of waiting. My friend who made the reservation began texting the customer service number to check in to see our wait time and they cannot give an approximate time but say there’s still 4 groups ahead of us. My friend expresses frustration as it’s now over an hour past the original wait time we were provided with. After over 2 and a half hours of waiting, we go to the bar to check the status of our reservation. I have never in my life seen so many rude and unwelcome workers in one single establishment. The bouncer greeted us with a scowl and the hostess was whispering comments about us under her breath. They got the manager, who we assumed would be coming to apologize for the absurd wait time but she was actually just passive aggressively explaining why it took longer instead of apologizing. Inside, the atmosphere is incredibly disappointing. It’s dark, everyone else sitting down looks as miserable as we feel after our experience getting in. Drinks are over priced, inside it’s a snooze fest, and they act like it’s the most exclusive bar in the world. Definitely overrated, not worth it, and extremely disappointing. I’m not one to ever write a review or complain but the workers here should know to overestimate the wait time if it’s as popular as they say, and they should also know how to treat people with...
Read moreI have been here twice now. My first experience was not great, so I wanted to give it another shot. The second time I went I had similar results, don’t know if I want to visit a third time. I went for the Weiss on Ice theme and again now for Weiss in the Wild, both times I had reservations. The decor both times was absolutely amazing. Our server both times was very nice, but I feel they need more staff, as I only saw the one server, and they were doing their best to scurry around a packed full bar, resulting in my party not getting drinks in a timely matter. And since reservations are given only 1 hr and 30 mins, it resulted in us only getting able to try a few rounds of drinks. The drinks themselves were very cute, 10/10 on presentation & the drink-ware, but hit or miss on the flavors. Some were delicious, others horrible tasting. To me the atmosphere was the worst part, for Weiss on Ice they had extremely loud club music blaring the whole time, my party and I had to shout at each other to have a conversation. And to me didn’t fit with the winter theme vibes. The music was a lot more on theme for Weiss in the Wild, and not as loud. However, with how packed it got, it was still hard to hold a conversation as it got very loud in there with everyone talking. My next huge issue was the reservation seating. They seat you practically on top of the other tables, and you’re elbow to elbow with the person next to you. And the tables are very small, I struggled to have just me and 1 other person with me. And I saw them cramming party’s of 4 around the tiny tables. If I do try it again in the future, I will attempt the walk-in bar seating to see if...
