They are good people, but think twice before coming here. It’s all about the money, and the business is geared towards that. I thought I found the perfect jeweler and trusted them. I spent over $11,000 for an engagement ring, and 6 months later had to sell it back. When I bought it, it was the “hottest on the market” “no one could find that stone and it was rare”. 6 months later there was no demand for it, and “it will sit on the shelf now”. They offered me $3500 to buy it back! I took the ring to many other Jewlers who looked at the Diamond sheet, inspected it, and they even showed me the same diamond for under $1000 their cost, and there were tons! They didn’t even want to make me an offer, because knowing what I paid they felt so bad. Even with the custom mount and diamonds on the side I was told I should have never even spent more then a few thousand for the ring! Now I understand why they bought it back so cheap. And the diamonds were all lab grown! He even told me other Jewlers would offer a $1000 maybe for it, after a handful of other Jewlers inspecting it, now I see why. It was never worth over $11,000 to begin with, they made a huge profit on this, and lost a true customer who supported the business and recommended many others. There are so many other honest Jewlers in the area who don’t have a 700%+ mark up on their products. What they bought it back for was completely unfair and a joke. I should’ve never lost that much money on a ring in 6 months. Like many other Jewlers said it was never worth even close to that to begin with. They should have done the right thing and gave me much closer to what I paid, wether it was worth it or not, they had me pay an insane markup to begin with. Shop around and really compare prices and integrity of the jeweler you are working with. My whole experience here has left me completely disappointed of how this business is ran and their product pricing. Take the time to shop for your special ring, and do your research. Hope this review helps someone out from spending way more than...
Read moreI worked with clawson jewelers to purchase an engagement ring and cannot recommend them enough. I came in frankly clueless and everyone was so patient and friendly with me. My first visit was legitimately fun and we spent an hour or so marveling at diamonds. I'm so glad I stopped in here first when I started shopping for a ring because they made me feel comfortable, confident, and like my upcoming engagement mattered. Not the experience I had at any other jewelers in the area! They were more conscious of the budget I first mentioned than I was, I never felt pressured, and the final product is something I'm incredibly happy with and proud of. Niki helped me to design a custom ring that they had made through a local craftsmen who did an incredible job. I was and still am stunned every time I see the ring on my fiancées finger. I hope this review convinces you to stop in, you are not going to find a jewelry store in the Detroit area that will treat you better. Looking forward to figuring out our wedding bands here in...
Read moreAfter reading all of the other positive reviews about Clawson Jewelers, my now fiancé and I decided to stop in to check out engagement rings. We were immediately greeted warmly by Niki and Joe, the owner.
My first impression of the store was that is was beautifully updated, smelled nice, clean, and inviting. Joe and Niki helped my fiancé and I a lot and answered any questions we had. They were also not pushy, which we appreciated. We were able to negotiate a fair trade for a family diamond we had for a new diamond. Overall, I could not have been happier with the ring-buying process at Clawson Jewelers.
Now for the best part. I didn’t get to see my ring until my fiancé proposed. When I finally saw it, I was truly blown away. They did such an amazing job; the ring was beyond my wildest dreams! I’ve been back since the engagement, and they continue to treat me like a VIP.
I could not recommend Clawson Jewelers enough. They are all very knowledgeable and passionate about...
