My husband, 2 year old, and I came here tonight for dinner and the only thing great about the experience was the server. I ordered the stuffed mushrooms which were so soggy, unable to cut and inedible. We ordered our 2 year old the Macaroni and Cheese and Fries and even the fries were awful. How do you mess up fries? She didn’t even eat the fries and she loves fries. Now if that doesn’t tell you something, I don’t know what does.

Now the biggest disappointment was the pizza. We ordered a cheese and pepperoni and it came out so soggy, you couldn’t even pick it up without it drooping over dripping in grease. Watching my husband struggle with it, I thought “oh no, this is not going to be good.” I picked up my piece and it drooped over so much I couldn’t even fold it. The cheese was also curdled. My husband tried to cut his slice and could barely cut through the dough. I’m from Chicago where the pizza and food is the absolute best no matter if you get NY, Pan, or Deep Dish style.

The manager came by and I showed her my drooping pizza and she said that was “normal.” 😳 She was beyond rude and tried to argue with me. I have been in hospitality for over 20 years. I actually just retired from the field. She was unapologetic and argumentative. I do not recommend you argue with your customers, ma’am. I understand this is a family owned restaurant but I am sorry to say, the quality was beyond poor.

The server kept apologizing but it wasn’t her fault at all. She was kind and even revealed she had children of her own. Hopefully this place isn’t shady where they keep the staff’s tips. I know some places do that.

We will never return here again EVER...

Daddy daughter date night : Vineros staff threw away my food, and my two daughters food when we went to the bathroom. I wasn't leaving my 5yr old in the booth by herself to stand guard and watch our dinner while our 2yr old (potty training) wanted to use the bathroom. Our server knew where we were going, I even asked her for the check on my way back to the bathroom.

When we came back our entire meal, drinks and even some personal belongings were gone. I assumed they threw the personal belongings away but one of the staff brought it out to us and said they "found it" on the floor. We had been at the table the entire time since letting them know they threw everything away. That means a staff member pocketed it and to avoid a potential theft conversation they "found it" somewhere else other than our table.

My previous review was 5 stars because of the pizza. The lack or empathy from management, possible theft, and shock of our entire meal gone makes me want to never come back to this restaurant. Especially as a father navigating the difficulty of eating out with two toddlers. I do truly think it wasn't our servers fault, but the entire staff seemed to be annoyed with me like I did something wrong. The discount they gave me for my "troubles" wouldn't even cover 1/4 of their chicken tenders and French fries. They offered to remake their food but now we're 30 minutes until their bedtime and Vineros just didn't get it. I would take your...

After recently moving to the areas this restaurant was highly recommended by neighbors. Unfortunately, I have been very disappointed with the service and food. Monday, December 27th was a friend's 50th Birthday and I was asked to assist with birthday plans. Venero's was the restaurant the family chose. At 4:30 pm my husband called to place an order for 7-8 pizza pies. First he was left on hold for over 10 minutes. When the call was finally taken, he told the person that he had a bit of a large order but he was calling in advance. The initial reaction of the order taker was that the order could not be fulfilled. He was again placed on hold and when the person came back to the phone he was told they would take the order and have it ready by 6pm. My husband arrived at 6:10 to the restaurant and the pies were not even in the oven. He waited for 30+ minutes for all the pizza to be done and because of timing of preparing and cooking all the pizza they were different temperatures.. Some even cold. Someone at the counter identified herself as "the owners" daughter and she advised that she would try to provide some discount for the inconveniences but she didn't know how to provide anything. Regardless, of the size of a purchase when paying for service/ product we do have an expectation of it being better than this experience all...

UPDATE: Very disappointed. Visited last week. Food took 45 minutes for a call in order, before lunch. And, when there were very few customers at the restaurant. Parts of the order were brought out at different times. So, the first items brought out were cold by the time the last of the order was completed. Won't be visiting here again. Volare, Cantare, oh, oh, oh, oh... Any ethnic food can be transcendent, transporting you back to a simpler time when an elder relative cooked and spoke of the Olde World and where your Family originated. The autheticity of recipes, not changed by time are the closest any of us will get to time travel. Enjoying delicious, wholesome foods, that were enjoyed by your ancestors, is a true nexus and connection with your own past and give hope for the future. With that lengthy intro being said, the meatballs I enjoyed today at Venero's Pizzeria, made me think my Grandmother was in the kitchen waiting to ask me if I had been eating enough (it's an Italian thing)?! It has been years since I slid into a booth at this gem of a restaurant. And, it is our gastronomic imperative to protect and support restaurants like Venero's Pizzeria. So, stop in grab some fried ravioli and listen to the music. Molto Bene!!!

Veneros Italian is a Clayton favorite and tonight we gave them a try. I have been to the location once before and this time the outdoor seating is greatly improved. The upgrades to the patio are amazing and inviting. Tonight we ordered our food to go; 2 chicken parm meals for a total of $32. Yes, $16 a plate for what you see in the pictures. I find that to be way over priced but if you are dining in, the experience adds to the meal so perhaps your family is looking for that level of price tag. Togo food, no go for my family. The garlic knots are basically stone and cannot be eaten; complete waste. The to go prep is poor at best. Food as a profession should be well thought out, even for orders to go. This means do not dump the pasta and sauce and chicken all into one container, unless of course you are going for the soggy meal effect. At $16 a plate, please think ahead and separate the chicken out from the sauce and pasta to keep it fresh; let the consumer put the dish together at their destination. Overall flavor was good for the portion of the meal that we could eat. My advice, only dine in at this place.

Its not easy to find a quality pizzeria that doesn't fall short of expectations at some point, that offers wonderful food and an atmosphere that is equally enjoyable upon every visit. After scouring the surrounding areas for something within a decent driving distance, we found Venero's. Our first visit brought us to the rear bar where there was plenty of seating, TV's to watch and a very comfortable atmosphere. This is obviously a stop for many regulars each week and with an exceptionally friendly staff, paired with owners who are very personable and welcoming, I am not surprised to see many of the same faces each time we stop in. The menu has a lot to offer, the pizza is very good and they will insist on ensuring you have it your way. Even at their busiest times, which is pretty much every time we return, the food and drink is always on time. Clayton is lucky to have this wonderful establishment and we have become regulars. Be sure to check out further reviews of Veneros on Yelp. Cheers!
