On August 29, 2025, around 8 p.m., my husband and I visited this location for the first and last time. We placed an order for one large esquite, one order of crazy nachos, and two small bowls of ice cream, approximately $4.50 each.
While waiting for the nachos to be prepared, we received three of the four items. Once the nachos were ready, we proceeded to the cashier to pay. The total seemed higher than expected, but my husband went ahead and paid. He then asked for a receipt. The cashier, a tall, slender, young-looking woman at the counter appeared surprised by the request but eventually provided one after he asked again.
When we got back to our car, my husband reviewed the receipt and noticed we had been overcharged. Instead of being charged the correct price for the two small ice cream bowls, we were billed $7.50 each for two larger bowls, items we never ordered or received.
From the car, I observed the employee glancing toward us, seemingly checking if we would return to complain. Shortly afterward, she stepped outside to clean the picnic tables. Given that it was late, and we had a 40 minute drive home, we decided not to go back inside and cause a scene.
This experience raises serious concerns. Was this a mistake, or was the employee intentionally charging incorrect amounts? I encourage management to review the cameras and receipts from that evening. If this was intentional, it reflects poorly on the establishment and could indicate employees are attempting to pocket extra money.
To top it off, the employees don’t greet you. One making an order, two other (women) gossiping and just staring at you.
I have attached a copy of the receipt as proof of the overcharge. (Look for it in photos of the establishment)
*Update: I just noticed the receipt shows a Cary address, this was not Cary. This is in Clayton beside the Lowe’s Food. I was visiting a friend near the area (Amelia Church Rd). So if the establishment wants to check their cameras, they can check the time stamp for the Clayton location. Charging customers something they did not order is not right. I’m not asking for anything free or my money back. Clearly I will not give them my money at...
Read moreI've been to this location a few times including the grand opening. While the service and milkshake I got were wonderful at the opening (mind you, it was the owner serving me), it seems like that hasn't been the standard since. The employees won't say anything when you walk in and just stare at you until you order/pay. The esquite has been watery and lackluster and milkshakes have been too runny like the employees don't know the recipes. Last time I went, one asked what ice cream I wanted in the Churro milkshake, and I told her whichever one it usually comes with. She looked lost so I told her which one I thought it was. Haven't been back since,...
