Update to owners response: an hour to eat would have been phenomenal, unfortunately it was an hour wait for food and drinks when there was only 9 people in the building. Had the waitress actually paid attention to our family, communicated they were short handed or even refilled our drinks (she did ask us when our food finally arrived 50 minutes later) we would have gladly left a well deserved tip. However, charging $3.50 for a small glass of soda and being ignored for 50 minutes does not warrant a tip. There is not one item in the menu that shouldn't take more then 20 minutes to prepare, even from scratch. Prep work is important in the restaurant industry. The restaurant website defines it as Mexican and Spanish style, yet owners response to our review claims they are "European phenomenon" last I checked Mexico is in North America. Owner seems confused on what their restaurant is and what qualifies as "hard working" from their staff. Also if it were based on European style, it's uncustomary to tip wait staff in Europe. Sassy unapologetic responses from the owners are certainly not enticing us to give this place another try or tell our friends how great they are. Reviews are intended to share our experiences as consumers and offer businesses an opportunity to improve in places they may not realize they lack.
Came in for street tacos today April 15th at about 1:25pm, we ordered 7 street tacos and the potato appetizer. There is only 9 other customers. it's been 45 mins and we've been ignored by server and are still waiting on food. Not an easy feat with a hungry two year old. I sent my husband up to the bar to inquire with the server where food was and she said our potatoes were in the window where they sat for another ten minutes before she brought them to us. We finally got our seven cold street tacos at 2:30pm and asked for the check. The building is nice and the decor was kinda cool but food was very amateur and lack of service ( for how slow it was) super disappointing. Pics of our receipts which show the time she took our order and time she swiped our card to orive it took an hour for simple potato's and street tacos. We stopped by Owens meats on our way home to make sure we could get a good meal tonight. :) Don't come to taps and tapas if...
Read moreIt was a miss for me and maybe it was just an off day for them? We came here based on the Google reviews and other locals who had tried it. We went on a Sunday, a little before noon. There were 7 of us, 4 kids. When we walked in it smelt like either strong cleaner or Raid… it was overpowering for someone who had a sensitive nose. There were quite a few flies around. We sat along the window, which I would recommend only doing if you want to be very warm in the sun.. they are older windows with no glazing or shades. Anyway, to the food and service. We immediately received waters, and had our food order taken. The main item we hoped to share with the kids were chips and dip, but they were all out of homemade Guacamole, so that was a no go. We ordered patas bravas, el pastor taco, and asparagus. They Bravas and asparagus were really good, but the el pastor meat was dry and over cooked. Most taco trucks do a better job with tacos. The service was very slow, with only one waitress and a full house. We wanted a rose, which was a Spanish rose, but in a can. They did not have an actual wine glass, it was more of a beer glass. Been to too many tapas restaurants, maybe I am being to critical? Either way, I don’t recommend but had to...
Read moreThe building is clean, fresh and fun. It was a bit hard to find... look for the black & white Pueblo style building across from Dairy Queen. We are a family of 6 with kids age 10, 11, 13 & 18 and were looking for something different for dinner. We love Mexican and enjoy Tapas, so a fusion sounded right up our alley. After we were seated, a large party arrived and far exceeded the capacity of the 1 server who was hustling cocktails out as fast as he could. We had to ask multiple times before obtaining water refills, sauce.
Our dinner bill was $142 before tip, with no alcohol. The first two potato-based dishes were simply different potato presentations covered in what seemed like a grocery-store quality fry sauce with a dusting of cheese. I felt guilty taking 3 of the 5 chips that had cheese on them from our $20 shared plate of nachos but shamelessly scraped the little bit of cheese baked to the plate off. The street tacos are not something I recommend ordering unless you have had at least 2 of what did look like delicious cocktails.
This looks to be a drink destination with some food available if you need it. Fun, trendy vibe but we left hungry and walked out on a table...
