Another visit to another Edwins and another homerun for Brandon Chrostowski. I hope you know the mission of the Edwins Institute so I will not go into the details about it here... So on to the bakery/diner experience - it is absolutely great! My daughter can't stop speaking how much she loved it here. When you come in, you are greeted by the counter with the the display of all freshly baked goodies (and they all look amazing). To the left is the library with some of the seating's and to the right is the diner itself (the diner itself is pretty small but library and butcher shop next door has some additional seats). The menu itself is full of all the great breakfast/brunch spots. My daughter ordered iced white mocha coffee, which they don't have on the menu but the individual behind the counter didn't blink and made it for her (great service, very typical of Edwins experience!). We tried 3 things on the menu: Corned Beef Hash (home-made corned beef, awesome! a bit of a miss that eggs were a bit overcooked and more carrots that I prefer), Crepes with strawberry and nutella, and egg sandwich on a croissant with smoke salmon. We also ordered Pain Au Chocolat and Lemon Curd to go. Everything was outstanding. Definitely coming back! P.S. When you are here, visit the butcher shop!!! Really neat as well

May 2024: I visited this place before during a book event in their library. This place has a reputation as a safe space where people can get a second chance. The cashier was very kind and confirmed that the rumors were true. I ordered the Edwin Omelet (which had cheese, chorizo, onions, peppers, etc. inside it), seasoned home fries, and homemade biscuits for a surprising small price of $12. Everything was delicious. The biscuits were a bit dry and would pair great with gravy. PROS: * The food and service are good. * a Cleveland area staple with a good reputation. * Unique, cozy ambiance with indoor and outdoor seating CONS; * Limited parking. I parked at the Dollar store and walked over. SUMMARY: I will return.

Wonderful gem of a French style bakery. I've been meaning to stop here and used Fat Tuesday and their Paczaki as an excuse, plus they made lavender and rose flavors. These were HUGE with a dense chewy dough and not overwhelmed by filling. Perfect and beyond delicious. (Sorry, local Polish Bakery, I'm hooked!) They have a range of scones, croissants, and sticky buns, plus brownies and lemon bars. Super reasonable prices and service, too. They serve breakfast in a cute side cafe. Coffees, teas, and special drinks available. Don't miss this spot!

I have dined at both at the bakery and Restraunt and have had a positive experience except on my recent visit to the bakery for breakfast. The Restraunt was busy and we had to wait for a table which was ok. After being seated we waited quite a long time before being waited on but we understood they were pretty busy. After placing our order we again had a very long wait. After awhile we began to notice that a number of people who were seated long after us were eating and in some cases finishing their meals. We asked our waitress if she could check on our order. After waiting again she returned to our table and said she forgot to put our order in. We finally got our meal and found that a number of items were incorrect. For example, I ordered sausage with my eggs but got bacon.

As we were finishing our meal the owner asked how everything was and we told him that the food was fine but we were not happy with the service. He apologized and said that we would not be charged for the meal. Shortly, thereafter the waitress said she would get our bill and I gave her my credit card. When she returned with the bill and credit card I noticed the bill was not ours as it had a number of items that we did not order. The waitress went to check on our bill and returned with the owner to our table. He said that he had pulled our bill and the meal was free. My wife explained that we didn’t expect him to pay for our meal but he insisted. We left a cash tip and left.

Today I checked my credit card statement and found I was charged for the bill that wasn’t even ours. $48.06. So I not only didn’t get a free meal I got charged about double what my bill should...

I usually go to the bakery when I pass and its been nice for the most part. But today I had a weird interaction maybe I could be over thinking it. But I had purchased two items totaling $7.50. I gave $8 looking for .50 cents back. Before receiving change the cashier asked for $1 I assumed he needed singles so I took out another dollar to give expecting $1.50 in quarters than he asked for another dollar. Again I'm thinking I will receive $2.50 in change. When I handed him $2 he handed me my original .50 cents in change. When I was standing there waiting for my other quarters he said never-mind and handed them back and I left. Maybe he did need change for the register or not but it came off as weird boundary testing thing going on to see what you could get away with or if I would forget I gave him $2 and he'd just pocket the money and I'll walk away and forget. When I was looking in the register I could see 1s in there but again I may be over thinking this but it was just an odd interaction. Overall my experiences...
