Eggs Up Grill — Restaurant in Cleveland

I really want to enjoy Eggs Up Grill as much as I did a few months ago, but unfortunately the service has declined.

Today my family was served by Emily A. (if the receipt is correct). She never introduced herself, but she had red hair and visible tattoos on one arm. This was the second time we’ve had her, and both experiences were almost identical.

She rushed through taking our drink orders—my kids asked for a half-and-half and a water, while my wife and I each ordered water. She only brought two kids’ waters, then disappeared for several minutes until my wife stopped her to ask again for our drinks and a coffee. Her response was just “yeah,” and while she did eventually bring them, there was no acknowledgment or apology.

When it came to food, my wife and I ordered the same dish: strip steak with eggs, avocado, wheat toast, and home fries. About 20 minutes later, the meals arrived—but both plates came with grits instead of home fries. Another server initially brought them out, but when we corrected the mistake, Emily returned with the same plates and asked again if we had ordered grits. When we said no, she set the plates down, removed the grits, and said, “Home fries don’t take long, you all can eat this.” Only after that did we realize the food itself was barely warm, which made the whole situation worse.

The food here can be good when it’s fresh, but repeated issues with service and food quality make it hard to want to return. If I wanted to gamble on mistakes, wait times, and lukewarm meals, I could just go to Waffle House. Until service improves, I don’t see us...

Zero redeeming qualities to this breakfast experience... Stark and sterile environment with all the charm of doctor's waiting room turned diner... Started off waiting 10 minutes before getting the drink order wrong. One coffee one iced tea ordered and two coffees with no tea delivered... No big deal, everyone makes mistakes...its just part of the bigger negative package.. We ordered something I can't remember the name of but it had eggs/ avocado/ crab cakes... 20 minutes later the plates arrived ... Something, not butter, was not melting on the toast... The scrambled eggs were a runny snot-like consistency... Gross! The crab cakes were soggy as well and tasted like they were flavored with cod liver oil... !! Completely inedible... So we thought: "screw it, let's just eat the home fries and go!" The home fries tasted like they were fried in a frier dedicated to fish frying and seasoned with Grandma's bathroom potpourri! We had already wasted too much time waiting and had to get on with our day so we are a piece of toast with the butter colored grease on it, paid our $41 tab and left... My wife threatened me with throwing up in my truck if I wanted to discuss the consistency and flavors of the worst breakfast of our lives at any point until evening... Everyone can have a bad day so I don't really make a final call until 2 experiences match but we will for sure NOT be giving this place a second try....easy stomach....don't turn...

First off I just want to say the food is WONDERFUL. Truly so good and a lovely change of pace from other things around. Now the service. I dont know what to say. My boyfriend and I came both Saturday and Sunday of this weekend, BECAUSE WE LOVED THE FOOD SO MUCH!! Saturday we had a tall blonde male server. He was kind and polite. But neglectful. He took our drink order, took 6 minutes to come back. No biggie he was probably busy. Then he took our food order. Didn't return until we were DONE EATING. Then promptly shoved our check in our face and we paid and left. We were a little annoyed but figured it was a bad day for him. Then today. We had a female server with tattoos and a long brown ponytail (forgive me I don't remember names well) she took our drink order. Took our food order. THEN NEVER RETURNED. My partners food was wrong but we couldn't get anyone's help. So he ate it anyways. It wasn't until a very nice and kind younger girl with black hair and a bright teal shirt came over and cleaned out table that someone else spoke to us. We sat there for nearly 40 minutes where no one spoke to us. The newer girl at and the end of our visit seems to be the only attentive server in there. I truly hate to even write this because the food is SO SO good and we will definitely be back. But these servers could stand with paying a little bit more attention to...
