Grumpy's Cafe is a fun and eclectic brunch spot that caters to visitors and locals alike. The eatery is decorated with regional art and complimented with bright colors. They do still have clear partitions to provide some separation between guest which I think patrons appreciate. The staff was great. I appreciated the interaction they had with as well as the guests around me. Cleveland Burger week enticed me to make my first visit to Grumpy's. They offered a burger topped with pulled pork, bacon, and a slice of pineapple. I thought this was a unique combination but was leary of how all the flavors would meld together. I was pleasantly surprised how each topping complimented the other. The spice of the pulled pork was balanced by the sweetness and slight crunch of pineapple while the bacon added a little punch of salt. I have to say that the topping as what make this burger. Unfortunately Grumpy's uses a preformed (likely frozen) patty for the burger. It's oblong shape created voids in the bun. The was cooked through out and juices spilled with each bite. The bacon was also undercooked and floppy. I'm not picky about my bacon, but it did feel a tad bit underdone. If you like crispy bacon, be sure to request it. I also order a side of their Cajun home fries and a cold brew coffee to drink. The cold brew was good and complimented the meal well. The cold brew wasn't particularly smooth, but it wasn't bitter either. The potatoes however were fabulous and we're actually the highlight of the meal. They were nicely cooked on the inside and had that wonderful buttery crunch on the edges. The Cajun seasoning was not over powering and brought a bright and yet another contrasting flavor to the plate. Definitely get the Cajun home fries. Overall I was happy with my visit to Grumpy's. I wouldn't say that I would visit Grumpy's specifically for a burger again, but based on the quality of the potatoes, cold brew, and the other menu items, I do look forward to a return visit for their breakfast fare. If you're local to the area, definitely stop by. If you're visiting I would put Grumpy's on your short list.

Grumpy's is the name but the staff was anything but that. From the moment we walked in the staff was friendly and accommodating. We were seated quickly and a server was at our table within minutes. Kim was our server and she was attentive, friendly and quick. The food was served hot and delicious. We all ordered something different and everything was full of flavor. My spouse decided to go with the special iced coffee of the day--chocolate covered banana--IT WAS AMAZING!!! Whoever is running this place has figured out the perfect blend of service, food, portions & pricing. The only thing that was a little surprising was that this place has no kid menu. I wouldn't expect a big selection for a kids menu but with this place its just non existing. I have a 10 year old so it wasn't too bad, just not sure how that would work for parents with younger children. Needless to say I wished we lived closer so we could frequent this place more often. I would recommend Grumpy's to anyone looking for a great breakfast outing.

One of the most well known spots in Tremont and right off W14th, Grumpy’s Cafe has been around for over 20 years under the same owner. It’s Sunday brunch is the most popular with generally a line outside to get in on Sundays. I’ve known the owner Kathy (who is great) since before it moved from a small converted house and expanded to its current location with multiple rooms and enclosed patio to handle its growing popularity. It is only open from 7am to 2pm. Below is their Steak and Eggs (which is not always on the menu) along with over easy eggs, their signature Cajun home fries (which I get plain because they are a bit spicy) along with rye toast. If you go to one place in Tremont for breakfast or brunch, this is the spot to have a high quality food experience combined with great service.

The Belgian waffle was super good. Enough i wanted to get two but my stomach couldn't handle it. The Cajun rub wasn't as flavorful as I thought it would be but had a heat to it that might be displeasing to some. The remainder of the meal wasn't anything too special, which I would for that reason give this place 3 stars. However when i saw the bill, I was extremely pleased for the quantity they provided for the price (all that you see in this picture cost $16.19) which was the saving grace and gives this place 4 stars. I would recommend this spot for when you want something filling fast. With the place half way occupied with patrons, I think I received my meal within 7 minutes of ordering which I feel is very fast. I plan to stop by again and bring a friend for a potential second review.

Visiting my hometown prior to my return to Kuwait. Decided to give Grumpy's Cafe a try. The place was busy but I opted for an available seat at the counter. I had a good view of the kitchen. It was jam packed with cooks. Perhaps, 5-6 people. I ordered the Jambalaya Omelet and one original pancake. The food arrived, about 20 minutes later. The pancake, toast and the hash browns, were cold. For an establishment to be busy, I would expect all food to arrive hot. The taste was so-so but the cold food was not acceptable. I asked for a fresh HOT pancake. 5 minutes later, I received another lukewarm pancake. At this point, I asked for a takeaway box and left. Not sure if I will give a 2nd chance.

All I wanted to do was do something different with my girls we have been going through a lot, we ordered our food and my potatoes were burned and my eggs were cold, I asked if my food cud be warmed up n they recooked it in the microwave, when the server brought me my plate back I asked wow you didn't replate my food and give me more toast and she did not respond, I tried to pretend in front of my girls that everything was ok, but my food had been microwaved for tooooo long, then out of nowhere a man came and just bought me another plate, but by this time my kids were done and my first impressions were already set, I didn't even want the food and I paid $54 for that breakfast... ☹️
