came for food on a wednesday june 18th, came to eat many of times here. never have a been so disgusted and disappointed in my life at a bar or restaurant. me and my boyfriend sat down at a cocktail table bartender never came up to us once, literally had to ask for menus. once we realized she wasn’t going to come over to the table at all we moved to the bar. once there she took our order and everything was cool, me and my boyfriend are servers we work in the food/bar industry we understand. we are eating and the female blonde bartender (didnt catch her name) who was talking to two men (bar guest) and she says “tomorrow is a very very important holiday” which proceeded to look right at me. the holiday is juneteenth, my boyfriend is black. which then the bar guests say “i don’t understand why it’s a holiday” “my birthday should be a holiday then” “ i don’t understand why people have off for it, i have to work. they should too”. all that bartender did was agree with all those things the men were saying. why even bring the holiday up in the first place if your a racist and your friends at the bar are racist too. it’s like she purposely brought it up to make my boyfriend and me uncomfortable. i never write reviews ever and i never complain if something goes wrong while dining out, but this needed to said and hopefully she gets addressed about this situation by the owner or manager because that was a disrespectful and...
Read moreI used to be a frequent visitor of Kelley’s. Overall, Kelley’s is a laid back bar with good food. Service was always fairly quick when and the prices were very fair (both drinks and food). It is the epitome of a hole in the wall kind of bar meant for broke college kids, as well as it’s blue collared workers. However, I had one experience where I was hanging out in the patio (this was during the summertime) with some friends and one of the bar backs came out and talked to us for a bit. out of nowhere he just decided to insult the way I dressed (tennis shoes, t shirt, and casual shorts) by saying things along the lines of me being a “creep” and how I looked like I “wanted to drug girls” and “frat guy” ya know the whole list. I have never returned since that incident nor do...
Read moreDaytime bartenders have attitude and take their time to serve you if you're not a regular. Trying to get a first round was like pulling teeth. Sure seemed like she was looking at everyone but me, even though I was the most recent person to sit down. I had to ask 3x to be closed out because the bartender was too busy chatting with customers/manager. I asked manager to close me out after the 2nd time of asking the bartender and the manager said to me "not my register". not even a "sorry I can't". rude as hell. I said aloud "three times asking to be closed out" and I hear bartender say "you have a full beer". be nicer to your neighbors and you'll get a better tip. service is MUCH better at night.
maybe don't let your bartenders...
