(I've written and edited this share 3x - I'll chaulk-up our service experience to an 'off' night for the team and leave it at that...though the app's where service-influenced). Appetizer of Proscuitto and Melon and the separate cold cuccumber salad took 30+ minutes to arrive and then were straight from the fridge cold so they had no flavor or character - honestly, I could have prepared the same at home (3star). Entre of Cod special was very tasty, though not straight from the kitchen hot - same for Mom's lamb (4star). Desert Tiramisu was one of the best I've ever had - no joke. Amazing (5star). Again, my share was influenced by an off night service hiccup. The locals clearly LOVE Valerio's and he/chef loves them back. It's Italian in just the right ways with boistrous families and children welcome. As first time/only time visitors I kinda feel like we missed-out on how special this place really is. I 95% recommend it and hope your service experience matches the caliber...
Read moreFood not good enough to endure the environment would be my title. The place is loud and cramped. There was no valet and parking in that area is a nightmare. The food was bland and the quality was subpar. Specifically, the tomato in the caprese salad looked like an Aldi's tomato. Hard and white inside. The veal oso was a special and I can see why. They used old veal. The spaghetti and sauces were just so-so, nothing to write Google about. Overall, nothing we had was wow for the prices.
Addendum: The owners response clearly shows that they are not looking to improve. This is typically the case for a restaurant that's been in business as long as they have. They either keep doing the wrong thing over and over, or they just regress from their previously claimed excellence. I'm not sure which is...
Read moreMade a reservation with some friends. Knew it was gonna be busy, but wowwww. Definitely an intimate place but gives it personality for sure. Food was pretty good, but a little overpriced for what you get. Our appetizer was very good. I got the mushroom ravioli, tasted great but was missing something and didn’t feel I got as much as the other entrees. Mushrooms were perfect though. My own friend got the squid ink pasta which tasted great, so definitely get that if you’re into seafood. I saw another review that complained about the overwhelming smell of flowery cleaner, which I can agree with. Smells akin to an Airbnb lol and not a restaurant. Service was good though. Very helpful, patient and quick. Make sure you get a reservation! Place gets busy for...
