Wok Express — Restaurant in Cleveland

I was excited about the new restaurant, but what is it? Is it a Chinese restaurant or is it a seafood joint? The outside sign says "Wok Express," but the first thing you see on the menu is a low country seafood boil menu.

On the first day it opened, I got some orange chicken with noodles. Even though the food was right in front of me and no one else in front of me, it took a very long time to get my order. I was very disappointed with the meal. It was overly sauced, the sweetness overpowered the chicken, and the noodles were bland. I chalked it up to the first-day jitters to ensure everything was perfect and gave them a pass.

I went back 3 days later to try again. I got orange chicken and teriyaki chicken with fried rice. I was disappointed again. The chicken was way over-sauced, and the rice was dried out. The meal was hot, though, and the staff was friendly and courteous. I'll try this place again, but no time soon.

I really wanted to like this place. The portions are okay. The menu is EXTENSIVE. They need to decide what they want to be: a Chinese restaurant or a seafood restaurant. A low country boil menu in a Chinese restaurant just doesn't...

This place has only been open one day, and needs serious help. I made an order online for two custom plates. One with teriyaki chicken, orange chicken, and chow mein. The other with orange chicken, black pepper chicken, and fried rice. I also ordered two spring rolls. I pulled up to the drive thru window at 6:35pm. The order was suppose to be ready at 6:42pm. I waited almost 20 minutes for my food. The manager kept coming to the window to apologize for the wait while there was about a dozen tickets he was frantically trying to put together. I took my food home to eat. The spring rolls were missing, and the food was mediocre at best. The portions weren’t very big either compared to other places. There might have been 3 pieces of black pepper chicken, other than that, it was all green peppers. I could have made better fried...

First they score a 39 on a health inspection. Mind you it was very serious violations. Then score an 81 on a follow-up still with very serious violations and the owner/manager is commenting back on reviews like they are proud of an 81 follow up!? Like no get your business together or close it. 81 is unacceptable but to parade it on reviews like it's good is WILD to me. I will never eat at this establishment again. Hopefully it closes and cleveland can get a good resturant in it's place with management that cares. Also make your employees bathe. Personal cleanliness is wild to score down on twice.
