Today May 30th, 2021 I decided I wanted to take my family out for dinner, my fiancé my son my daughter and I. When I first got there it was explained to me that they are short of staff which is understandable due to the COVID-19 pandemic we are very open minded regarding the waits and all. Our waiter was a Hispanic kid looked to be like in his early 20s maybe even 19. Very polite he took our drink orders. Within 5 mins of us being there the costumers next to us told him his steak was burned he told him he will put in another order. The costumer obviously did not hear him or pretended to not hear him he called someone else that was passing his table and told them that he told his waiter and he does not want to do anything about it, his waiter over heard and said sir I already put in another steak for you the costumer got nasty and started inviting the waiter to fight and told him that he will beat him up the waiter came back and the customer got on his face and repeatedly started yelling at him someone else who was with the costumer got up and also invited the waiter to fight at that point I don’t see where the waiter is wrong. As things escalated one of the guys confronts the waiter the other guy hits him and a young lady with the costumers begins to spray hand sanitizer in his face disrespectfully. Had I had not been with my kids my fiancé and I would’ve definitely stood up for the waiter who was my waiter and everyone else’s on that side. With that being said I know that supposedly the costumer is always right back t before leaving someone without a job the best thing will be to investigate first before leaving someone with no job! We had a horrible experience in the Applebee’s over on route 46 so we came to this one but I guess all Applebee’s locations just don’t care about their customer experience. For starters my waitress Valerie, if that’s her name because her name tag said Gaby, she never once came to my table to ask if everything was okay or to atleast let us know that she’s waiting for our food. We got our wings 30 minutes after ordering and then another set of wings after and our entrees were still missing. She walked by our table and then realized she never came back to our table after taking our order and still didn’t even ask if we were okay. I understand it was busy but atleast come to our table to let us know our entrees are taking a little longer or if we would like something else to drink. I spoke to one of the managers about the situation and instead of him saying he’ll take care of the tab for the drinks and one order of wings, he removed the entrees and had me pay for the drinks and dry wings. At that point I just wanted to leave because Applebees has just been awful since Covid. Employees look like they don’t want to be there. They had 3 hosts all on their phones with a bunch of customers just waiting there to get their name taken down for the waitlist. When we walked in we had to get the hosts attention off her phone and she just kept using her phone. A gentleman who was next to her took my name down because he noticed what she did. Both of my children ages six and seven and I went to this Applebee’s and I’ve been frequenting this Applebee’s since I’m in my 20s so over 10 years. While we were trying to enjoy time as a family, there was a group of people who were harassing myself and my six-year-old daughter and threatening physical violence. My daughter was very upset. She was crying. The manager on duty did nothing to help us. She was very rude and disrespectful. A truly nasty and heartless woman. She also yelled at my son for holding the door open for another patron. The patron was very grateful and thought it was a sweet gesture. I called the police because I was getting no support or assistance from management and my daughter and I felt unsafe. The police handled it and reprimanded the culprits and management. I’m currently going to be pursuing a lawsuit involving Applebee’s because of the significant mistreatment my daughter and I were subjected to. Please DO NOT go to this restaurant. You deserve to have a pleasant dining experience with your family and if anything happens, you should have the support of management and feel safe when you are enjoying dinner with your children/family. If management can be so dismissive regarding a serious situation, imagine how the actual staff are acting! Management sets the example for the rest of the waiters and waitresses. And there’s so much hate and violence in this world that innocent and kind people are subjected to.
