Kebab Platters — Restaurant in Clifton

Food was ridiculously small for two 12$ platter not even enough to feed one person. If you are taking good money you owe it to the customer to atleast give more than half a cup of rice and a handful of gyro.

** update response from owner was untrue beware of any restaurant that serves people and acts when they are unhappy in such an insulting way. the two platters should have fed four people if what they said was true—they did not. We asked for extra rice and meat instead of salad the owner said she’d accommodate but instead took it as an opportunity to just send us home with rice barely covering the bottom of the container AND no salad. I believe this was likely because we got the leftover food from the day as it do not seem fresh at all. Plus each platter was supposed to come with two pitas, she gave us only one and forgot the other. If the owner cared they would apologize this owner simply likes to blame the customer. My husband and I ordered thru Uber eats the mix kebab platter with fries, lamb kebab platter with rice and salad, and 2 mixed gyros (chicken/gyro).

Mixed kebab platter: fries were horrible, tasted like they were baked instead of fried so it had a dry chewy texture, inedible. The servings of chicken, kofte, gyro kebabs were so tiny, as if for a toddler. Overcooked, dry, and a poor representation of mixed meats.

Lamb kebab platter: the rice and salad were okay but the lamb kebabs were also tiny, burnt and dry. Gave it to our dog and he barely ate it.

Mixed gyros: the pita was filled with mostly salad, very tiny bits of chicken and gyro so it was like eating a salad pita.

Excluding Uber eats fees, we spent close to $70. Stay away from Clifton Kebab House / Kebab Platter and save your money. It seems like restaurants don’t care anymore and shame on them for sending food like that out to customers. If this is how they represent themselves, they need to shut down. I paid $26+ for a chicken kebab platter with barely any rice and a FROZEN double cheeseburger with barely any cheese or fries. I picked up the order myself and even left a tip because I am not frugal but I must say that this place has abnormally small portions. I understand that times are hard but you shouldn’t rip off your customers/ community to make up for inflation. Raise your prices and serve normal portions as are other restaurants in the area. I live in the area and would rather order from local businesses without involving uber eats or Grubhub because I know it makes a difference in my community. It was honestly barely enough fries for even one order. Due to unfair portions, I will not be returning nor continuing to recommend friends and family to this establishment. I am very disappointed.
