So, I started to no write a review as Google prompted me to give a rating during a not-so-good time of the day and I couldn't pause to type much of anything, but now I feel it's only approprate to give my true thoughts:
This place is fantastic.
I found this place by happenstance while going to college not too far away, and it's probably been one of the best findings I've made in years.
The food is a hybrid between comfort and something creole- with alligaor sausage, crawfish tails, and shrimp being combined into wraps, sandwiches, and all other kinds of goodies.
This has quickly become a go-to place, even with it being about a half an hour drive from home, for anything that deserves a bit more of a sit-down enviroment.
During college, I would come after a long week of testing, my husband and I would (and will continue to) take laid back date nights there, I've gone there for my two most recent birthdays (hey, I'm a simple girl, I like good food and friendly faces), and even today to celebrate my graduation my family and I went to enjoy ourselves.
I have never had a rude waitstaff or a poor meal- the prices are more than fair considering even for a larger girl as myself I can easly make two meals off of their generous portions.
10/10 would reccomend and will continue to bring friends and family here to give them a taste.
Oh, I've also never left a review before, but this place has been so wonderful I couldn't just leave a 5/5 stars and elaborate on just how much I mean it. Hope this review hasn't been...
Read moreDon't take a large group here if you want good service. This review is 3 stars mostly because of the poor service, not the food. The food was good. We had a group of 30, mostly teenagers. They assigned one, poor waitress to us from ordering to paying our tickets. The first table had their food eaten before the last table had even ordered. By the time the last table got their food, the first table was ready to go. (Teens get antsy in a hurry) When it came time to pay, the same waitress had to bring tickets and then personally take each person's money to the back to run the ticket. This took at least 40 minutes. It was ridiculous. We got there at 4:50pm but didn't all get to leave until 6:45pm. By the way, they weren't busy when we arrived. They didn't actually get busy until at least 5:30 or so. There were 4 other servers who could have easily helped out with orders or tickets at the end and we would have been in and out. As I say, the food was good. The restaurant itself is not what I expected. It needs a renovation, in my opinion. One final word here is that I mentioned this to our waitress but no help came. If someone had at least addressed the issue, I likely wouldn't be writing this review. Oh well. Good food but the service could have been handled MUCH more efficiently. I would return with my family or some friends but not with a group...
Read moreTraveling through and thought we would try it out. Food was good a little lite on Portions, so if your wanting a full meal might go somewhere else. Can't really ding service as we waited to be seated a server either past out or slip and fell, ambulance came carted her away. I ordered the shrimp platter 12 total half fried and the other half grilled. Nice option because the coating had little to no flavor on the fried. The grilled was well worth it as the flavor exploded in my mouth. The side salad in a cup was disappointing, two bites left me wondering why it was brought out first. More of a tease than a salad. Will make note salad dressing vinegarette was really good, but again you need actual greens in to make salad. As far as the other side I choose the Sausage Queso Dip. I don't think there was sausage in it, but a one ounce cup isn't really a side so i can't comment on the taste, not enough product. Service our waitress was very pleasant, granted she just had a coworker get wheeled out on a stretcher. This would probably be a good lunch stop. Dinner not so much, but again the price was is geared to more dinner. Final note they don't serve frog legs which was confusing because the decor was mostly frog related. As a side note they don't like being asked if they would fry up the live frogs in the aquariums on...
