Horrible stay. Incredibly unwelcoming. Problems started immediately upon arrival. Tried to activate my digital key on my phone. Told me I had to stop by the front desk first. Understandable. Stopped at the desk, the poor lady at the front desk said this was her first day back, and they had her working by herself. She couldn’t check me in, had to call for help. Finally someone else comes and literally clicks one button and it’s done. 20 minutes of my time wasted. Go upstairs, enter room, the hallway light doesn’t work at all, won’t turn on. The bathroom door is a sliding barn door type, which would have been fine if it actually fit. But the door was about 2 inches smaller than the doorway, so when you slid it shut, there was about a two inch crack on either side that was just open to the rest of the room. ZERO PRIVACY. ZERO. Try and turn on the TV, remote doesn’t work. Try and charge my phone, outlet on the nightstand closest to the bed doesn’t work either. At this point, does anything?? We try and leave to go out and as a habit, I push on the door to make sure it locks behind us, door just pushed open. Wasn’t using the doorknob even. Just doesn’t latch. Not using the key. Just able to push the door open. Thank god I checked or else we could have been robbed. Went down to the front desk and told them our door wouldn’t lock. She goes up, comes back down and looks annoyed and says “You JUST have to pull up on it.” Im sorry, I’m paying $100+ a night to stay someplace where I have to PULL UP on the door to lock it?? What kind of janky place is this??!? And then not even apologized to, they act like it’s MY fault I don’t know I have to pull up on the door. Excuse me??? Whatever. We leave and come back late, try to get into my room, door key doesn’t work now and I’m still not able to activate my digital key. Have to come back downstairs, irritated, tired, just trying to get into my room. The receptionist was cold and unapologetic AGAIN, acting like it’s an inconvenience to reactivate the door key. I don’t care at this point, I just want in my room. She gives me the key and finally it works. We put all our food stuffs for breakfast the next morning in the mini fridge and go to sleep. Apparently they turn off the fridge at some point, because it was cold when we put the food in there at 10pm, but when we went to get the food out at 10am, everything was warm and unthawed. Fridge was off. Thanks for the heads up. Checked out, was not thanked for our stay and she acted like she couldn’t even find my reservation, called me by my guests name instead of my name, which was on the reservation, on the card I used to pay, everything. Just very disappointed in this stay. Extremely inconvenient and unwelcoming. Will never return...
Read moreI check in this hotel on 01/31/2024 - 02/17/2024 due to my home being damaged by a recent winter storm. This hotel has contributed to making this a terrible experience. I have known Hilton to have a good reputation but this particular location is equivalent to Motel 6 and they don’t leave the light on😒. I should have known better when I initially checked in and saw the same dirt spots on the lobby floor for 4 days. I have asked multiple times that housekeeping clean our room. I was told that my room would be added to the list but housekeeping never came. I was then told that they no longer clean rooms during a stay. Despite the big sign in the mirror that speaks to housekeeping clean every other day for your comfort😒. On 02/03/24, I contracted COVID 19 ( probably from lack of cleaning/infection control at this location). Of course I never expected for them to clean while I was in quarantine. However quarantine does not last forever. I deep cleaned my own room (Lysol, bleach wiped everything and allowed my room to air out via fresh air). Days after this process, I ask again for my room to be cleaned/ vacuum. I was given lies from the front desk. I ask that they leave cleaning supplies and I could clean my own room. Apparently they can’t do that either. I guess I’m supposed to live here with 4 children in filth. My husband ended up purchasing a toilet brush/ cleaner, tissue, towels and a broom and dust pan from the store. I have called corporate compliance and reported my concerns. I have spoken with the general manager who seems unconcerned because it is not her being inconvenienced. The ice maker on the 4th floor does not work. They have a shortage on linen. I made groceries for my children and place in the mini refrigerator. I noticed that the refrigerator was not cooling. I placed a note at the front desk. The desk clerk tried to argue with me that maintenance fixed it when maintenance never came😒. Food ruined and money wasted. After 3 days a waiting the refrigerator was replaced. This place needs some serious help. Apparently my concerns are not isolated. I sat at the bar with a few people who we’re having the same issues.
I spoke to the manager Lashondra about my concerns. She was present when i initial voiced most of my concerns. She was kind and not very helpful. At that point, i had enough. I moved my reservation to another hotel. I will never return to this hotel. When looking for a place to stay, please look past this place quickly. I feel like, if you pay for service that service should be provided. STAY AWAY from this...
Read moreBroken toilets; out-of-service elevators; off-track bathroom barn door; over-flowing trash and dirty towels due to lack of housekeeping in room; broken ironing board; having to switch rooms--these are all of the issues which my family experienced at the Hilton Garden Inn, Jackson/Clinton during Mother's Day weekend. Without-a-doubt, this one-star rating is highly appropriate. The first day of our stay, the toilet in our room did not flush. This issue persisted for hours with no remedy. As a result, we had to go downstairs to use the restroom. The men's restroom had an inoperable toilet filled with bowel that I inadvertently discovered. There was a custodian cleaning the mirrors when I discovered this. I mentioned to her that the toilet in my room was not working, and I asked her if she noticed that one of the toilets was filled with bowel. She remarked yes and said that she believed there was an issue with the plumbing. As a result of the broken toilet, my family had to be moved to a different room. Once we got in the room, we noticed that the bathroom barn door was off track. After having to put it back on track ourselves, we discovered that the reason the door kept getting off track was because it was missing a stopper on one end, and as a result, it kept rolling to the end of the track, eventually sliding right off of the track. After returning to our room after spending time with family, we were unexpectedly told that the elevators were not working. This caused me and my elderly, handicapped parents to have to gather the strength that they had to walk up several flights of stairs. This was without-a-doubt a hardship for them which caused them much difficulty. Once we got back in the room, we noticed that the room had not been serviced--there was overflowing trash and dirty towels which were not removed from the room. When calling down stairs to the front desk, the concierge remarked that housekeeping had left for the day and that there was no one who could remove the trash nor remove the towels. Not only could she not remove them, but she also mentioned that she was the only staff person in the building. My family is highly disappointed in our stay, and we want a...
