Waffle House — Restaurant in Clinton

A friend and I decided to meet up early this morning before going to the gym. When I lived here 5 years ago, I always had pleasant experiences at this location. Maybe I was just young or cared less about good service, but this morning was a huge let down. When we arrived around 4:30 AM, the first thing we noticed is how filthy the floors were and how there were 3 waitresses who were doing nothing but talking and texting. After waiting to be seated and nobody acknowledging us for a few minutes, we decided to seat ourselves. Once we sat down, we still waited a while before one of the waitresses said she would be with us in a minute. Finally, we ordered coffee and she brought us each just half a cup because apparently that's all they had. She then asked if she needed to make more coffee! No, we just came to waffle House for half a cup of old coffee. Next, we ordered food. I asked for my bacon to not be very crispy, just normal. Once the bacon came, it was absolutely burnt to a crisp. I immediately told the waitress that I didn't want it and reminded her that I told her that I didn't want it crispy. She happily took it away but still made sure to charge me for it and didn't offer to make any more. We got our waffles, and after asking the waitress multiple times for butter, it never came. We had to keep asking her for it and she kept saying she was looking for some. Who works at waffle House and doesn't know where the butter is? I had a creeping suspicion that she was more concerned with texting and talking to her friends, rather than someone cleaning up the disgusting floors and making fresh coffee. This has been one of the worst waffle House and restaurant experiences I have ever had. I'll take my chances at iHop or somewhere else from now on. Due to horrible service, I can't recommend...

This was an interesting visit. I'd only been to waffle house once since everything started opening back up and that visit went well.

This location however has a hostess who barely speaks to you then will guide you to a dirty table and look at you sideways when asked to clean it off. Once seated (right next to the cash register in a booth) the waitress was friendly and took our order quickly. Overall the food was ok however my 6 year old son who wanted nothing more this morning than a waffle, received a flat, overcooked, lifeless lump of under cooked dough that resembled a waffle on the outside. I asked the waitress to remake it and she did which I thought was great until she brought back another waffle of the same kind. I was disappointed and so was my little one. The orange juice he ordered was ultra concentrated and had to be sealed out for a soda and my tea was SUPER sweet. In the end he ate my eggs and a sausage. While waiting for the check we saw one of the other waiters peeling the moldy leaves off a head of lettuce. During our visit we had to deal with patrons constantly reaching by us to pay for their food.

Service begin atrociously. The waiter had a nasty attitude when taking our order. A red headed waitress with a frog was rude not only to customers but her fellow employees. The 1st waitress brought out one of our plates we asked for a to go plate due to one of the party members had to leave. She picked up the bread bare handed and when my mouth fell open because she did so she had the nerve to tell the waitress next to her (Erin....I think) that her hands were clean and she was not about to make the plate over. I asked another waitress if I could get someone new to serve me and the ride waitress continued to try and serve me anyway. All of the orders that she took were wrong and she really could care less about it. Enters the red headed girl when she heard I had asked for a manager. She tells me no one is the manager right now so basically I just have to deal with the situation. After 5 tries of getting the order right we have food. I would have left a long time ago but we are from out of town and this was close to the hotel we were staying at. The only shining light was a 21 ye old waitress Erin...I think. She was the only one there with any real knowledge of customer service and just human decency. I would never recommend that place....
