I want to start this review with I hardly do reviews. Only if they I want to recognize something/someone exceptional or just the opposite, which in this case, is that. Also, I want to say I am a Lifetime Platinum member with Marriott. I say that just to point out that I've actually stayed at a lot of Marriott properties including a lot of Fairfield properties. Also, I have actually stayed at this particular property a few times before starting when it first opened several years ago. So, with that said, here are my concerns. I made my reservation for this stay several months ago. Upon arrival they could not find my reservation using my last name even though I had checked in online the day before. I had left my phone in my car so I went to retrieve my phone so I could provide my confirmation number. When I walked back in the young lady asked me if my first name was Vince. I said yes, and she said I found your reservation, not sure why it was in our system that way. Not sure what that means. That was a first. Okay, she checked us in, gave us our key and we went up to our room. Walked in and it was warm and stuffy. Went to turn on the A/C using the thermostat on the wall. Nothing. No response from the thermostat or A/C. Tried another time or two and still nothing. Decided to call the front desk using the room phone to have someone take a look. The phone was dead, did not work, at all. Made sure it was connected to the phone jack in the wall. It was. So, went downstairs to see what could be done. The young lady noted our room problems and asked the young man working with her to put us in another room. He did and we were on our way again. This room was better, but not by lot. The couch was stained, the lamp on the desk with the electrical outlets did not work, the bathtub was chipped in several places, the picture that is normally in the bathroom was missing, but the hangars were still there. Other than that, the room was a typical Fairfield room. Okay, move on to the next morning. We went down for breakfast at 8:15, over an hour before they stop serving. The "bold" coffee container was empty, no orange juice and there was a "out of order" sign on the orange juice side. Not sure if the apple juice worked or not. For the normal hot breakfast they offered mini quiche, veggie sausage and ham. The quiche were cold and hard. The veggie sausage was warm and WAY overcooked/heated. The ham was not tasty at all. So, checked out the oatmeal. What was left was dried out. So, settled on yogurt and granola. The 3 attendants were in a back room I found out as another guest and her husband were trying to assemble something to eat without much luck so she went to the open door and discussed the poor offerings with them, really to no avail. They did bring out coffee but that was about all. The couple I just mentioned tried eating something they had gotten, but two minutes into eating, they were leaving, telling us they were going to Waffle House. But, in speaking with this couple the lady told us that one of the attendants told her "sorry", but tomorrow there was going to be "pork sausage". Not sure what that meant, other than deflection. Move on to Sunday morning, we went down about 7:30 this time. The coffee was empty again, no orange juice OR apple juice. After being told they were out of coffee and juice, the attendant said she would bring coffee right out. She also placed the "out of order" sign on the orange juice side of the machine and refilled the apple juice. But, at least the scrambled eggs were warm, the potatoes/peppers were warm and somewhat tasty, and the pork sausage was okay. Sorry Marriott Fairfield, but you can do better. It was better once but each stay seems to get worse. I grew up in this city and I know you can hire better people or train them to do their jobs in a more professional way. And, please fix the orange juice machine or buy some orange juice. I'd love to get a reply if...
Read moreI booked one night at this location due to the increased cost of the rooms for the weekend.
I stopped by the hotel on Saturday, July 3, at 2PM while in the area so that I could check in, if possible. The lady at the front desk was VERY rude and unprofessional. We did not check in at that time.
When my kids and I arrived back at the hotel, it was after 1130 PM. The guy at the desk was very nice and got us checked in quickly. I mentioned the rudeness that occurred earlier in the day and thanked him for being very nice and professional.
We were given the booked suite, room 214. When we entered the room, it was hot. I adjusted the air to 65. After a total time of about 40 minutes in the room, the temp had only decreased 1 degree from 77 to 76. I called the front desk and the clerk offer to move us to the one remaining room available on the first floor, but it was two queens. No problem. We packed everything up, went downstairs to the front desk, and moved to room 109, I began to clean and disinfect as usual. The air worked, but the room had a distinct smell. While cleaning, I noticed mildew around the tiles of the tub, the inside of the toilet was not cleaned well, hair in areas of the bathroom, and lots of dust in the A/C unit. Not too comfortable with that especially during COVID, but it's late. My son showered, then I showered, ironed their clothes for the next day, and settled in. Each time the air stopped blowing, the smell intensified, and I would spray Lysol. After a few times, I finally got up, looked around and saw swelling in the wall and the closet opposite of the bathroom. I took photos of the dirt in the A/C unit. I called the front desk at 2:21 AM and asked if anyone had ever complained of a mildew or mold smell. He said yes for some of the rooms, but not for that one. He confirmed there were no more rooms for the evening and apologized. At 2:29 AM, I called the Hilton Garden Inn across the street. The front desk clerk, who was very pleasant and professional, told me they had a room, the price, the check out time. I booked the room and told her that as soon as I could pack up my children, who were both asleep, I would be over there. Do you know how awful something is for me to pay for two rooms in one night AND walk out in public in my pajamas? And, I paid more for the not so good experience than I did at the better hotel. I cannot recommend this Fairfield property to anyone unless you just really need...
Read moreI booked this hotel through Priceline and when I checked on Monday April 25th I asked the front desk if the wifi was working & if there were any issues because I will be working & attending school so I need quality WiFi. He explained that the hotel has excellent WiFi. The next morning around 8am I tried to log in & there was no service. I called the front desk to them know I desperately need service. She said she would speak with the manager. I told her that I'm going to breakfast & hopefully when I come back it will be working. When I tried to log in approx 1.5hrs later the Wifi didn't come up in the list of available networks at all. I contacted the front desk again & explained the importance of my need. She said she'll let her manager know. Another few hrs went by & there was still no internet. I asked if there was possibly another connection that may be available she said no. At this point I had lost 4hrs of work. I explained to her that I will need to check out if they can't get it to work because I have to work. When I got my things together about an hr later the internet still wasn't working so I checked out. My issue is they will not refund me for the 4 nights I did not stay at the hotel. They have stolen my money. When Priceline inquired about the internet during that time Fairfield stated they hadn't had any issues, but when I left on the 26th there was a technician there trying to fix. So they clearly lied. I have called several time to speak with a manager & left messages and as of today June 19th I still have not received a call back. There are no names on my receipt as to who checked me out but initials CLB. Don't trust the people at this Fairfield because they will lie and steal your money if you have any issues.
Update: Priceline did not refund my money because when they contacted the property they made it seem as if I stayed the full week & not just one night & there were no internet issues. Priceline trusted the property not to lie to them but they did. I explained to Priceline that Fairfield was lying so they instructed me to contact the property directly. In my original post one can see what happened.
The property responded they would contact me but that seems to be another lie because as of today I have not received any correspondence from this property. Nor have they provided a way to...
