Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Clovis

I don’t have photos of the nachos and drinks we enjoyed but my comment isn’t so much for the food as it is for the service. We went in about an hour before closing on a Sunday night and the service was exceptional. The waitress was really sweet and the staff overall very friendly. And honest. The gentleman that was cleaning up as we made our way out the door found a small wad of cash that I accidentally dropped without noticing on my way out and he brought it out to me. I think that deserves a mention. I don’t know what his name was but if he wasn’t already the manager then his manager should know that this is an awesome team working under him on that shift. The nachos and drinks were perfect too! The place was clean and you can see they are doing their utmost to keep it sanitary for guests. This was a five ⭐️ experience.

Went there for an late lunch about a week ago on a Sunday. The place wasn't very crowded, so we thought our food would come to us quick. Unfortunately, we waited over 40 min just to get our appetizers. And what actually happened is that we got our entrees at the same time as our appetizers. Apparently, it was just sitting at the back, never coming out to our table. Not only that, the waitress who was helping us didn't come to us to see how we were doing until 40 min had passed.

I saw her looking at our table many times, which had no food and our drinks going down. She didn't bother to ask us how we were doing and did not go check on our food. She was "busy" cleaning the tables around us for people who had already left.

When we finally did get our food, I asked her for some napkins. The next thing she did was literally go to the next table near us and started cleaning it again. She never brought us napkins. I wanted more water too, but she never came back to help us again.

I believe the manager came out to apologize for the appetizers, and then we asked him to get us napkins and water. He gave it to us right away, while our server was just wiping and cleaning the tables around us. It was really bad.

We won't be going here again for a long time b/c it was such bad service. It would be understandable if they were busy, but they weren't. Over half of the restaurant was empty. They definitely need to train their staff better because cleaning is important, but customer service to people still sitting should come first.

The food itself was fine, but my salad was a bit drenched...

My wife and I had been eating at this location for a while until we had one incident that kept us away for good. Although the other times prior, our orders were either not complete or missing key items that the recipient clearly said we ordered however one night we got our food, it was a bit on the colder side but we ate it anyway due to it being kind of late and there was no point in making a big deal out of it but instead learning g from it. Halfway through my wife eating her salad, she noticed there was blood on the outside of her container because when she touched it, it smeard and look exactly like blood. She could've sworn she ingested some as well. Upon further inspection, there was also blood in the paper bag in which the food arrived in. We called and told the manager to which they tried to help as best as they could but the damage was already done. My wife had just had our newborn son and had to discontinue breastfeeding due to fear of contracting an STD of some sort. The Manager couldn't say or do much but offer us a free meal in which I declined from not wanting a reoccurring incident to happen. This may have been a 1 in a million type situation but I'd advise everyone to be careful with this location and triple check your food. This is the reason for the 1 star and hopefully this doesn't happen to...
