This is the first time I've visited the Clovis Olive Garden, and the first time I've ordered To Go from any Olive Garden. Having said that, I won't be going back, they checked nearly every box on a 'ruin my evening' list. Prices are high, no surprise, they want to be viewed as a higher end chain restaurant, but food and service does not reflect the pricing. Ignoring the price, we arrived at the restaurant before the time the website and subsequent email and two subsequent texts repeatedly told us the food would be ready to bring out to our car. Although I received a text telling me the food was ready and ready to be delivered to my car, had been there waiting and had 'checked in', exactly 16 minutes later the food actually came out to me. Ignoring that as well, the breadsticks were hard on the ends and any parts that were 'soft' were extremely chewy. These were NOT "fresh breadsticks" and only 6 were provided along with my $80 worth of food. Funny how when the breadsticks are fresh and delicious you don't even think about the fact you're paying about $1 each. When they're nearly inedible the thought certainly comes to mind. The $22 chicken entrees had chicken I would return for my $5 back if they were served at my school cafeteria. I didn't know you could even buy human grade chicken breasts with that much fat and gristle in them, no exaggeration, it was a LOT of fat and gristle in both entrees, nearly inedible. I ate ¼ of mine, my wife ate about ½ of hers, dog got the rest. Rigatoni was overcooked, splitting and falling apart with hardly watery sauce and a few mushrooms. The portion was truly laughable for $15 given that it was simply dried pasta and 'sauce', but I wasn't laughing because my daughter was left hungry. The side of soup was a container identical in size to the pasta filled nearly to the rim, and the salads, although sparse, filled containers the size of the entrees. SO, if you are in the mood for huge sides of soup and or house salad, this may be the place for you. If you want a $22 entree worthy of calling restaurant quality italian food, my money is going back to...
Read moreI took my son & grandmother here for a small family dinner. I placed our name on the waitlist list on our way over which said 10 minute wait. Cool. I dropped my grandmother & son off because I had to park in the back parking area since there are minimal handicap spots & she is on oxygen & had a hard time walking distances. She went inside & checked in & they told her 30-45 minutes…WHAT?! Whatever we are already here & I was looking forward to the pasta fagioli. We waited and watched party after party go back & I looked at the website for where we were on the waitlist & the site literally said you have already been seated. WHAT?!?!?! I am sitting in the waiting area. I walked up to the hosts & she proceeds to tell me oh we mark you that way you will be seated shortly. Not really ok but fine if you are seating me I will be ready. We watched literally every single party get seated & she was no longer setting out menus & I walked back up & said um you said we would be seated & we are still sitting here. She said oh let me check & goes oh looks like we seated you in the system. Ummm hello! I was up here 15 minutes ago & you said I would be seated. Come to find out they gave our table to another party but not once even checked on us sitting in the waiting area! That was a horrible start to this dining experience. We were sat at a table which if I wasn’t so hungry & annoyed at this point I would have complained more because we asked for a booth. Our server Cylus was honestly the best server I could have asked for after the experience we had to start. I only gave a 5 stars in service because of HIM! He checked on us made sure we had everything we wanted or needed. Helped us pick out our food since we decided to try new items than we would normally get. He was even great with my son who was surprisingly calm for how impatient & tired he was of waiting. Cylus is the only reason we would...
Read moreFood was nice and hot, but lacking flavor. All our dishes at our table lacked salt. Grated cheese helped, a little salt helped, but could have used more sauce or something. Not worth the price for sure. I didn't get unlimited bread sticks or salad nor was I asked if I would like more. So that was false advertisement. I should have asked I guess. The salad lacked dressing and looked like it came out of a bag from the grocery. Again, not quality salad. Bread sticks were good, just not enough. Our server was great. We sat near the kitchen so we heard everything including many dishes breaking. It was chaos back there, from the servers going in and out to all the shouting, "corner" back and forth. When we left it was crowded with people sitting and waiting for their table making it almost difficult to walk out with my toddlers. The people wouldn't tuck their feet in and servers and hostesses were walking back and forth, so that made it more stressful to get out of there. I took a breath of fresh air when I was finally able to get out of there in one piece. I don't recommend this place on a Friday night so if you do go, make sure you go before 5. We got there just in time before it became chaotic. I brought my mom here for her birthday, but it really wasn't as special as I thought it would be. They didn't really make a fuss out of it or have anything special to offer, so that was a let down. Food here should be half the price of what they are charging for it because that's how...
