NEVER have I been so insulted in a restaurant. We were in here in clovis, we had a budweiser, Dr pepper, and 3 sweet teas. We were brought a Dr pepper, 2 sweet teas, an unsweetened tea, and a bud light. So when I say something about it, no apologies, AND someone else is here to be our server. When she asked if everything is OK, my wife said our daughter was suppose to have sweet tea, and I chimed in yea and I'm suppose to have a budweiser not bud light. STILL NO APOLOGY! The last had the nerve to tell me to calm down, not apologize, calm down. I've been to the Leal's in Amarillo, muleshoe, and the other location in clovis and never been treated with anything but respect. I was expecting an, "I'm sorry this happened." But no. Then SHE came and asked how our food was, and I was 100% honest and told her, "The muleshoe location is better." At which time, she rudely insisted that I take the check and said I was rude to her, "a manager". If this is the current management at Leal's, then I'm sorry but we'll never eat at ANY of your locations again. After she walked away my wife AND 3 teenage children were trying to figure out how I was the one who was rude, especially after I spent $76 in Leal's, and was planning to leave the rest of the $100 bill as a tip. Had the first person (a white male) just stayed with us I would have eaten, paid my bill, and left him a...

Good food bad service. Always go there to eat. Never had a problem until this last time we went. Waitress was mad because we left her a $5 tip. First of all it was just 2 adults and our grand baby not even a year yet. Got 2 steak plates and sodas. She didn't check up on us but once. My husband had to get her attention for a refill. She was too busy at another table with two young men just talking and talking saying she was from Chile, etc. having a full on conversation with them. Do you think she deserved a bigger tip? Idk how they expect their tips but I am going to tip for the service not for how much my tab was. When we left she was complaining that it was an $80 ticket which it was about $76 and we just left a $5 tip. Like I said I am tipping for the service and not how much I spend. There was just 2 of us literally, how much was she expecting? If I am in the wrong please let me know. And that is not the first time they complain, I have heard they are always complaining about their tips and talking about people. I love this place and have gone many times. But if you are going to complain about the people and tips, this is...

We’ve been to Leals about 3x since moving to Clovis. Each time, I’ve always thought the food was pretty mediocre. I kept giving it a try though. Tonight was meh, I got the carne guisada. However, I probably won’t be back and I’ll take my business to Jalisco’s because in addition to charging the $5.29 for a kids meal, they charged us an additional $3.00 for a milk. The kids menu clearly stated all meals came with a drink. When I inquired and asked why I was charged extra, the register lady was pretty dismissive and said milk didn’t count as a kids drink, only fountain soda. This is really surprising considering it wasn’t clearly marked on their kids menu that milk wasn’t included as a “drink” and nearly EVERY other restaurant and fast food joint offers milk for kids. How many adults are ordering milk? Also, $3 for a small cup of milk is pretty excessive, considering you can buy almost a gallon for the same cost at a...

Traditional style Mexican Food. First stop on the way to Roswell NM. We eat a lot of Mexican food out and prefer TexMex or NewMex. This was more traditional Mexican. Not particularly spicy, but you can get their hot salsas to spice it up to your taste. The very best thing they have is the Leal’s Special. The most ordered dish of the restaurant. It is a taco, tamale and an enchilada with rice and beans. Great seasoning in the red sauce served on the enchilada. I ordered the Tacos Mexicana. Unless you like traditional Mexican food I do not recommend this dish. It is VERY greasy. The Leal’s Special is a little greasy too, but it is good. If you want to stay away from the grease, stick with a crispy taco or a salad. Nice folks run the place and wait staff does a good job. If you are passing through give it a try.

Though I haven't lived in Clovis in many years, Leal's is always one of my favorite places to eat. Every time I'm in town I ALWAYS stop for the Stuffed Avocado. The Stuffed Avocado is a large, breaded, fried avocado stuffed with chicken and cheese on a bed of rice and served with beans and a sour cream sauce. If you love avocado, cheese, and chicken, you can't go wrong. I've ordered copy-cat stuffed avocados at countless Mexican restaurants from Houston to Chicago and as far east as Boston and never had one that was anywhere near as good as what Leal's serves. The crispy Chile Relleno is also very good. All of the waitresses and waiters I've had have been awesome, kudos to the cooks and servers! Next time I'm visiting family in Clovis, I'll definitely be back.

I ordered for pickup over the phone. Food was actually pretty good. I ordered steak fajitas and added shrimp. I specifically ordered 15 shrimp (pic added). They charge 7+ dollars for extra shrimp and THEY SHORTED ME 5 SHRIMP. This could be an honest mistake, but I'll be paying attention if I ever come back here. The lady on the phone had an attitude I didn't instigate. The lady that processed my payment for pickup was quite rude after being super nice to a lady before me. I didn't dine in but the atmosphere looked like any normal big city restaurant. I'll go back again but I'll be making sure to check that they gave me what I ordered and paid for so that I'm not taken advantage of.
