I left a review of my first experience with this place on Doordash. After reading several of them here on Google, I would think that the owner would've made great strides and improvements by now, especially with the delivery side of the business. Aside from the complaints of some of the dishes being subpar to awful, those of missing ordered items and misrepresented advertising is very concerning. All menu items should list what is included (pieces of meat, bread, condiments, etc.), and delivery orders should have special attention paid to them, as customers should, at the very least, be given what they've paid for, even if the food isn't as tasty, flavorful, or cooked properly. I ordered the salmon croquettes with cheese eggs (scrambled soft) and cheese grits. This site's picture of this particular meal looks very appealing and delicious, but it is misrepresented with three patties when, indeed, the customer only gets two. Shame on me for ordering anyway after reading many less-than-pleasant reviews, but I want to test this out for myself. I should've stuck with my gut though. The total price I paid was nowhere near commensurate with the quality and quantity of this meal. First, let me say that my salmon croquettes appeared to have been pre-made and pre-packaged. They reminded me of two large deep-fried hush puppies with "salmon seasoning" (if there is such a thing). Breading and fillers don't make a salmon croquette...SALMON does. In addition, the TWO "balls" I received looked nothing like the THREE tasty-looking patties pictured on the site. When it comes to my eggs, I'm very adamant about the way I want them cooked. Now, I'm not unreasonable and realize that if I'm having eggs delivered, enclosed heat will most likely continue to cook them, which is fine. But, the eggs I received were over-scrambled and had this hard, rubbery consistency. I still don't believe they were real eggs. My grits were season-"less" and had a very watery consistency. The cheese??? When I think of cheese eggs and cheese grits, I've always had both with the cheese cooked (melted and blended) within, and not sprinkled or plopped on top half melted. Take a look again at your picture on your site...neither my grits nor my eggs had an inkling of resemblance. With all that being said, I do wonder if the owner has a staff or is he/she cooking solely? This matters when it comes to care taken to accommodate and please the customer and in practicing consistency. The mixed reviews of this establishment are surely contrary. Customers, repeat customers, and customers "to be" are and will be your "bread and butter," and the owner should take heed before his/her reputation and integrity are withered down to nothing. Regrettably, I won't be ordering anything else from this place...it was a real disappointment. Donya's, you gotta do better...and you need to pay more attention to these "less-than" reviews and address the complaints sincerely with action behind them. They say, "A drunk mind speaks sober thoughts." Well, let me tell you...so do ALL customers when they are paying for unsatisfactory goods and services or those they...
Read moreTHIS HAS TO BE THE WORST BREAKFAST I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY EXISTENCE! I have never experienced food so plain and dry in my life. They make the pictures look nice but they have no flavor at all not even salt. They add parsley to try to make it look like a 5 star meal but it has no flavor at all. I think they just throw eggs on a stove and overcook the eggs. Honestly my school breakfast taste sooo much better than this and I am not exaggerating. My turkey patty was burned and plain. My eggs were hard dry and overcooked w cheese sprinkled on top. My toast was burnt. The grits were definitely gritty and watery w no salt or pepper whats so ever. If you want my honest opinion about this I don’t think they should be selling breakfast at all especially with all the unseasoned reviews they got they still makes their food bland. I don’t even think they’re breakfast plates deserve not even 1 star. Maybe a half star.. no better yet a quarter star. It was horrible! Do not waste your money here. I took 1 bite of each item and threw the whole plate out. I don’t even think my dogs would enjoy this… I don’t mean to be harsh but obviously customers are wasting their money on this food and the owners obviously see the reviews and only respond to the good reviews, and continue to sell unseasoned and overcooked food. I dont think they care of how their food tastes as long as we waste our money there then...
Read moreI recently ordered from this establishment through Uber Eats and purchased the “Da Roosevelt” breakfast meal. The dish included eggs, grits, toast, and two salmon croquettes served over a layer of raw spinach, which appeared to be used as a garnish. While the presentation was decent, I was unfortunately unable to consume the meal due to my spinach allergy, as spinach was not mentioned in the description.
For transparency and to accommodate customers with dietary restrictions, I would suggest listing all ingredients including garnishes in the meal description as well as ensuring the advertised photo accurately reflects the dish. This small adjustment could prevent similar issues for other customers in the future.
Overall, while I appreciate the effort put into the dish, this experience was disappointing for me. I hope this feedback is helpful in enhancing clarity for future orders.
Why 2 Stars?
Pros: Decent presentation.
Cons: The food arrived below room temperature, which was also disappointing. While I didn’t expect it to be hot due to delivery, I did expect it to be at least warm. Additionally, the advertised photo did not fully represent what was included...
