The stars are mainly for the food. The new chili-cheese frito burger is amazing. It's what I ordered and proceeded to demolish within seconds. As with most Whataburger establishments, the food takes forever and a day to come out. I came by at 11 PM with my grandfather while we waited for news about a relative in the ER at the Scott & White down the road. It was nice to sit down and prepare to eat. However, it took a full 30 minutes for us to receive our food; it would have been longer had my grandfather not asked an employee to check on our order. We sat right in front of the register. The employee who took our order was kind, but after taking our order and one after ours, we didn't see him again. What we DID see were a bunch of employees in the back cooking and playing around on and off. The drive-thru line was incredibly long and likely the reason everything took so long; they definitely prioritized it. An elderly couple came in and ordered a few minutes after my grandfather and I ordered and sat down. They ordered to-go, but also had to complain to receive their order. Go figure. This also means they got their food before we got ours. I wanted some gravy for my fries and somehow that ended up being sausage gravy. It was on the receipt, so I guess there was some sort of miscommunication between the employee at the register and I. Not a huge issue, just kind of annoying. And expensive :( Will avoid this specific location in the future. I know food takes time. I know we went at a weird time. However, we should not have had to sit in front of the counter for 30 minutes...
Read more0 stars would be an overstatement. Absolute worst experience EVER at a “fast food” restaurant. Ordered in lane B of the drive through where the girl then told us to merge into lane A after taking our order. We were confused because she didn’t say which car to follow and we were merging in with cars who hadn’t even ordered yet. We got up to the speaker and proceeded to tell her we already ordered and merged over like we were directed to and she said ok. When we got to the window they said they didn’t have our order and proceeded to take it again. While sitting at the same window, after about 10 minutes another girl came and asked if we had xxxx order, which again was the wrong one. So we again repeated the order we were supposed to have. They told us to pull up to the yellow line where we had 8 cars get their food and go around us, now from BOTH lanes A & B. After finally getting a lady’s attention, she told us they were “out” of sausage patty’s. The manager finally came out and brought our food and did not seem apologetic and said “it happens” and when we expressed we had been there for 35 minutes he said “well our screen only showed 15” although that’s probably when they actually put the order in, not from the time we originally what we thought had our order taken in Lane B. He said he would refund us as well but never brought our cash back out, which at this point we were frustrated and wanted to leave as fast as possible. Although this is the closest to our house, we will NEVER return to this location and will be driving across town...
Read moreIt was the first time I had been to Whataburger since I have lived in the BCS area for almost a year on Rock Prairie. The wait time to order was short through the drive-through. The attendants were very sweet and responsive. After giving the attendant my name and pulled up to the paying window, there was an older lady who took my card and was just an absolute sweetheart. My order wasn't ready yet, so she asked me to pull up. She came out with my food order, full of smiles, and thanked me for being patient. I could feel the heat from the bag, and the smell was incredible, so I knew it was made fresh. I still had about 20 minutes to get home, and the smell was getting to me, so I opened up the bag and, like a kid, snuck an onion ring. Oh my goodness, it was so crispy, light, and airy, melted in my mouth. I wanted to eat them all right then. They were that good but decided to wait. After getting home, much to my delight, the burger was still hot, the cheese melted, the bacon cooked to perfection, and the sauce completed the whole burger. BTW I got the Spicey Burger. With that and those onion rings, absolutely the BEST burger I've had since living here. Thank you, Whataburger, for taking pride in all you do. Your team members seem happy with their job, and your food is...
