Schlotzsky's — Restaurant in College Station

Dined in for a late lunch while Christmas shopping (12/19 at 1:30ish). Ordered our food at the counter. Asked to leave a tip when we paid. Knowing the employees do not make server wages and they are not providing any other services besides taking our order , I declined. Thankfully, this was a smart decision. As we waited for our order, I noticed one employee sitting at the high top area with the charging outlets. She was on her phone. The business phone started ringing loudly. She looked back toward the kitchen area, but no one was answering. I assumed (wrongly) she was clocked out, because she made no effort to answer. A few minutes later, her coworker, and it appeared they know each other and worked together well, sat down next to her and got on her phone as well. Shortly after, a group of four arrived to order at the counter. One of them got up and took their order. During this time, I heard an “Order Up” and saw my order at the counter ready to be delivered. The girl on her phone didn’t move. The girl at the counter was busy. I didn’t want my food just sitting there getting cold so I got up to retrieve it. I was almost there when an older woman with a headset came out and asked the girl on the phone to deliver the order. She refused. I was already at the counter so I just grabbed my food and sat down. Shortly after, when the second girl had taken the orders from the group of four that had arrived, the two of them sat at the high top table and complained about the older woman and the request to serve my order to my table. After this, the two sat at the bar on their phones while on their chargers, only getting up when there were food orders to deliver. At one point, the older woman asked them to do something in the back. They looked at each other and said something about not doing anything she asked. As we were leaving, I heard them debating about when more cinnamon rolls needed to be made and put out. Overall, a horrible impression about the work ethic and culture at this location. One woman was obviously working her hardest in the drive thru and making sure the dining room orders were out efficiently. And the two girls in the lobby were doing the absolutely least they could. I placed my order around 11am and pickup time was 11:17am. I got there a little before that time and ended up waiting for 45mins!!!!! Not only was I waiting, but all the tables and online orders before and after me were waiting just as long, if not longer. They were definitely prioritizing the drive thru over anything else. They even had orders that were supposed to be ToGo that they were trying to put on tables. Eventually, I had enough and started asking questions. They stated that they made my order 30 mins ago and didn’t know what happened to it. After waiting a full hour to get my one order, I asked to speak to the manager. He told me I didn’t understand the food business and that he didn’t know what to tell me. POOR MANAGEMENT. And when I said that the entire restaurant should leave a bad review, he said “do what you have to do.” Schlotzsky’s… THIS IS YOUR MANAGER WHO CLEARLY DOESN’T MANAGE HIS STAFF OR HIS RESTAURANT WELL. I love schlotzskys, but this schlotzskys in particular seems to just suck, Everytime I order they get it wrong, I get a chicken fiesta with no tomatoes and plain sourdough bread instead of jalapenos, and Everytime I get it, they get it wrong, they never forget to take the tomatoes off, but they rarely ever change the bread to plain, and last time I ordered it was so ridiculous I felt bad I even spent the money, I got a medium chicken fiesta meal, I spent almost 17 dollars, the bread hadn't been changed, but the tomatoes and the bell peppers both had been taken off, and there was hardly any lettuce, who wants to pay 16 for chicken cheese and olives, that's basically all it was at that point, and it was honestly hard to eat and I was so upset, I dont have time in my day to drive 30 -15 minutes out to the good schlotzskys, or to get them to entirely remake the sandwich, please just get the order right next time it's really not that bad, unless y'all are just too lazy to get it right.
