It was a very disappointing meal. We were seated at 5:20p, and the main course didn’t come out until 6:20. Our server was seen four times, and we had to flag down other servers to get what we needed. The salmon was good, but the veggies were swimming in some liquid concoction. The filet (market price) ordered medium came out well done. To top the night off, the bill came with a 3.5% credit card fee. I paid with a debit card, and being a part of that industry for some time, I know this made the restaurant money.
This is a response to the owners comments. Let me begin by stating that Google reviews are for opinions, this is my opinion. It's not a complaint. I’m not asking for anything to replace this unfortunate experience. People deserve to see the actual side of a restaurant. As for the servers, it should be noted that, yes, the weather before the dinner was a bit challenging at best, but if you knew this, then shouldn’t you have limited your own reservations system? We did have reservations. As for the timing of the food, well there was a table that was seated 15 minutes after us and received their food 13 minutes BEFORE ours. So, your timing of “fine dining” doesn’t fit. When the food was dropped off, there was no check for the steak, as happens at “fine dining” restaurants. It was just dropped, and no one stopped by the table to offer refills or just to check. Could I have gotten up and said something? Yes, but I also wanted to see how your wait staff handled this situation. We even moved our plates to the end of the table when we finished. When we ordered the dessert, and you brought it to the table I don’t believe you ask, “How was everything this evening?” as the owners of “fine dining” establishments do. I didn’t know you were the owner, as you never said. After waiting a while, I had to flag another waitress down to settle my bill. That is where I noticed the credit card charge. You are correct that its 2.7%. Maybe I missed that, but I didn’t see it on your menu or even on your website when I made the reservations. As for credit card charge of 2.7%, debit cards are NOT charged the same amount as say a normal credit card. Under the Visa Interchange fees, the average on a debit card is 1.19% + $0.10 per transaction. In the case of my bill $133.00 this would have been $1.68, not $3.59. Again, this number changes with the card presented so that it could be a little more or less but nowhere close to the 2.7% you blanket on all transactions. It seems you are paying your credit card processor too much. To round this conversation out, I wasn’t trying to start a heated discussion; I just wanted to give an honest review. Please feel free to see all my other Google reviews as I don’t sit around waiting to give a place a bad...
Read moreI called at 1850 to make reservations and I was told a table for 3 at 1930 on the patio. We arrived at 1915 and was told our table was inside. We were seated next to the dish room. It was very loud and not where we wanted. We asked to move to an outside table as originally requested. We ordered almost immediately around 1930. Our appetizer and salad came out pretty quick. Most places will split the salad wedge on 2 plates if they know it’s being shared. This place brought us an extra plate. We waited until 2030 for our entrees that never came out. The server was not attentive. She didn’t check on us, we had to wave her down. Other servers were more friendly and attentive. Our own server avoided us. The table next to us got their food before us. I will never go back. Too many places to choose from nowadays to settle for bad service. We just found out from the manager that our dinner order did not get entered until 2012pm. They did not care that the mistake was made. She never even apologized. I believe her name was Tori. Manager acted nonchalant also. The weather was perfect for the patio and I was so excited about going. So...
Read moreI never write reviews but we had an amazing experience at David Grisanti’s on Main this evening so I wanted to share. This was our first time to visit the restaurant and it did not disappoint. The space is beautifully decorated, warm and inviting. The hostess was professional and prompt to greet and seat us(we had a reservation). Our server, Lauren was the best we have had anywhere in a long time. Good service is so hard to find these days and I must give serious credit to her! My husband had chicken livers for an appetizer(he loves them and said these were some of the best he’s ever had) and I had a delicious, cold wedge salad. My entrée was the eggplant parmesan and it was perfect. My husband had manicotti and didn’t leave one bite. The bread was so good, rustic and simple but delicious; loved my Aperol Spritz and next time will try one of the many unique cocktails from the menu. I could go on and on, but I want to be relatively brief; this is a much-needed addition to Collierville, and we were thrilled that it was 100% perfect. We look forward to visiting again and...
