This place is sooooooo dirty, rude, and unorganized! Doors always open so flies were flying all throughout the store. The women don't wash their hands. 1 older lady had her feet kicked up behind the counter where they prepare your food. I had to ask them to clean their hands before preparing my food! I came in today for lamb w/rice that they didn't have. The lady that took my order said "we don't have lamb!" And walked away w/o asking if there were something else I'd like. I had to walk over to the counter door and ask her what did they have today? The same lady said "fish, chicken, beef! Whatchu want!?" I then asked for a menu. Another worker came out and walked over by the fridge area, so I went to her and asked if they had rice other than white rice to serve with the beef. She said "I don't know! You have to ask someone else or read the menu by yourself! I'm doing something" Being as tho the kinds of rice aren't specified on the menu I wanted to know what I was purchasing. I then fought w/myself to just leave but I was soo hungry and pregnant craving African food. So I ordered the jellof rice with beef and plantain. The beef "meat" is just as hard as a stone!!! Extremely dry, tough, hard, and it was iced cold over top of my warm rice. I paid $14.50 for this platter and all they gave me was 3 stones of "beef" and 4 pieces of plantain. I'm soo unsatisfied and disgusted!! NEVERRR WILL I EVERRRRR SPEND MONEY HERE!!! THIS PLACE IS A DISGRACE AND NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN! Those women are nasty!!! Trifling place, attitudes, and meat! Lastly that was a very poor version of...
Read moreSo I'm about to write a long disappointed essay about this restaurant lol. The service was really bad, if I could give 0 stars I would. Was visiting Philadelphia for the first time and Googled African restaurants and wazobia came up, went there that night but they were closed but I went back again the next day hoping to get some authentic African food in Philly but my experience was horrible. First of all the place was dirty and then we were standing inside and no one could even ask us what we need or anything, they just kept passing us by and doing their own thing and shoving us aside like we're invisible, I finally asked one of the ladies ( the older one)if they were open but her reply was very rude. We finally decided to leave before another lady came out and asked if she can help us but we were already disappointed and irritated and I'm never going back there again. They need to learn about customer service if they want to remain in business bcuz it's not like they're the only African restaurant around smh. Overall, i was very disappointed but I know we Nigerians are known for hospitality but they were not hospitable at all, maybe it's because we looked like younger that's why our business didn't...
Read more1st time customer I didn't want to waste a trip so soon as they opened I started calling to see if they had a specific dish I wanted. I tried both of the numbers- kept getting a message saying they're open but on the other line. The text number- no one ever responded. Decided to take the ride, just know I had a 2nd option so it wouldn't be a waste. Get there and it's open. The man behind the counter is on the phone. Asked him was there something wrong with the phone and he says "what do you want?" He acted like he was being disturbed in a place of business. I wanted to walk out but wanted that dish. He continued to talk on the phone and almost tried to overcharge for my food. Everything he did and said was very rude. When it was ready he knocked on the glass and pointed to the food. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE!!!! but....THE FOOD WAS GOOD!!! I don't know if I would ever return. If so I would need to pray and take a deep breath. It also won't be no time soon. If you can keep going to other places that give terrible service. You mines well add them to the list.
All that to say GOOD FOOD, BUT HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! Maybe get rid of that grumpy old guy I'm sure everyone is...
