My husband and I like to "eat out" once a week, which means go pick up some take out from a local restaurant and bring it home for a movie night. Not a large chain, or fast food. Local businesses owned by people within our community, because we want our money to help support our community.
We were deeply saddened to see your business, a long standing Collinsville staple, providing indoor dining while Region 4 is still under mitigations which prohibit those actions specifically to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Our region continues to have the highest rate of positive cases, with Madison Co having a positivity rate of 14.77% as of yesterday. Whether or not our county is enforcing the state mandate does not speak to our internal moral obligation to do what is right. We are in the middle of a pandemic, our hospitals are full, and our staff for said hospitals continues to be critically low while treating the sickest patients I have ever seen. These aren't just nursing home patients and generally unhealthy people, these are 50 and 60 year olds fighting for their lives and losing.
We can't support a business that is participating in activities that contribute to the spread of an infectious, airborne disease that just yesterday took the lives of 155 Illinoisans and in less than a year over 357,000 Americans. I know that we are all just trying to get by and keep the lights on and roofs over our heads, but this isn't the way. I wish we had more support and incentive to do the right things so that people wouldn't feel backed into a corner, but we don't.
With that being said, your food was always great (fish tacos are my fave) and your staff, including you Roger, were always kind. All staff that were seen had face masks on. Please reconsider your business model during one of our community's darkest times. Stay safe.
ETA: Region 4 is now under phase 4 mitigations allowing indoor dining at 25% capacity and 6 ft apart or with impenetrable barrier as of 2/4/21....
Read moreIt's unbelievable how downhill this place is going.
I mean you order a shake and it's not even mixed.
I swear it's like I'm drinking straight Hershey's from the bottle.
And I don't even want to go back and deal with it. She's doing it on purpose because I complained about it one time.
It's just so pathetic. And of course I'm mixing it on my own now and I spill it because I'm mixing a freaking shake that I shouldn't have to mix.
My God how hard is it?
Not only that they make the tacos extremely lazy. You can see the handprint where they were holding your taco because they're making them so lazy.
That's just a turn off immediately.
It's like that on the outside of the show with meat and smashed cheese because that's where you're freaking finger was.
Probably not going to eat here no more. If you're that lazy that you can't take the time to make a freaking shake properly then I don't want to eat food that you prepare And if you're doing it on purpose just because I complained about you making it improperly the first time then what...
Read moreThe old man in the kitchen is an awesome guy. He has three women up front that run the counter for him. One is super sweet and two act like you're ruining their life by ordering food. Their bbq is as mid as bbq gets. If you have no taste you might think it's great but if you've ever been a guy or girl that smokes ribs you will be disappointed. Their Mexican food is OK but the "meat" they use is that really fine taco bell style meat. You can tell they keep it in a warming table which on it's own isn't bad but it's got so much water and oil in it that by the time you drive 10 minutes home they're falling apart from being soggy. They have "that good ice" for their drinks and their shakes are very very good. If you're going to order food I recommend you order their Mexican and ask them to not assemble it. They will give it to you in small containers and it ends up being much much better which leads me to believe it's probably fine if you just...
