Some of the pictures in other reviews are of their old location. **Mungo's Italian Eatery: A Culinary Gem in Uptown** From the moment you step into Mungo's Italian Eatery, you're greeted with the warm embrace of an authentic Italian dining experience. The atmosphere is a harmonious blend of classic charm and modern comfort, making it the perfect backdrop for any occasion. The **Mungo Salad** is a revelation in itself. A delightful mix of fresh greens and a secret blend of Italian herbs, all tossed in Mungo's signature dressing. It's a dish that dances on the palate and leaves you craving for more. As for the **Beef Mudiga**, it's nothing short of a masterpiece. Tender cut of beef, breaded and cooked to perfection, served with a side of Mungo's legendary pasta and meat sauce. It's a dish that pays homage to the rich culinary traditions of Italy while adding a touch of sophistication. But what truly sets Mungo's apart is the impeccable service. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure your dining experience is exceptional. Their attention to detail, knowledge of the menu, and genuine warmth make you feel like part of the Mungo's family. In conclusion, Mungo's Italian Eatery isn't just a restaurant; it's a destination. A place where the food is as magnificent as the service and atmosphere. Whether you're a first-time guest or a long-time patron, Mungo's is sure to leave a lasting impression on your heart and your taste buds.

This place is an experience. We knew we were some place special from the moment we walked in. We were lucky to have Charles as our waiter. He was attentive, entertaining, and a true part of the history of Mungo's. Some of the best toasted ravioli we have ever had. The house salad is unique and very delicious. We would definitely recommend the lasagna, tortellini, or three-way pasta, all were exceptional. Everyone needed a box for leftovers and while we didn't think we had room for dessert, it was my wife's birthday and they provided complimentary cheesecake, which we all shared, and it was fantastic!. Tony, the owner of mungo's, even stopped by our table personally to check on our experience. This is a first class experience that you do not want to miss.

Came here for a dinner with my family and had a great time. The bread and butter they served before dinner was amazing, though the butter was very salty so be warned if that's something that bothers you. We ordered a burger, two orders of pasta, and one shrimp scampi along with two drinks. All of our food was amazing and we had absolutely no complaints. We also ordered two drinks, a mango mimosa and a Moscow mule, and they were both great as well. Be warned though, the drink menu has no prices listed. The service was wonderful, our server was very polite and we appreciated how nice both she and the server training her were. Can't wait to come back 😊

I went here for dinner, & my initial impression was of super frustration. I called the night before for reservations, only to arrive at the time I asked and find out that my name wasn't even put down. As a result, the staff said they would slide me to the front of the line. I watched 3 other couples get seated before us, which I understand, but still frustrating.

Once we were finally approached for our table (15-20 mins waiting and standing around) we were seated in a second room, likely used for large gatherings. The romantic and classy atmosphere in the mainroom was no where to be seen in this room, along with pizza parlor style chairs. At least they were comfortable. We were then met with very loud children, and I was just absolutely through the roof upset.

Drinks took a while to make it to the table. Waitress was incredibly nice, though mixed up the orders between our table and the one next to us. Not a huge deal.

My entire evening turned around when the food started to come out. Every single thing I went through up to that point had gone away and was made up for by the food. The toasted ravioli is easily the best i've had in my life. The house salad is next level. I could go there just for these 2 items alone. The entrees were great as well. Highly recommend just for the food alone, and without the mixup with the seating/reservations, it would be the easiest 5 stars ever given. This is truly The Hill quality here in Collinsville. Pricey, but worth every penny. I have paid far more...

We love Mungo’s and enjoy their food very much! We have been costumers for many years even when they were located in Fairview heights in front of the mall, then in O’Fallon and now in Collinsville Main Street. I have tried several dishes but my favorite is the shrimp castiglioni. I absolutely love the oil, butter & garlic noodles as the side dish. The mungos house salad is what I start craving first that brings me back! The salad is a mix of romaine and iceberg lettuce. It has prosciutto ham, parmesan & provel cheese. The house dressing is a creamy Italian…yum!! The zucchini sticks are really, really good! I also order the chicken stasilli, chicken mudiga & shrimp scampi. They are delicious! I always order the cheesecake whether I am full or not! It is soft, not hard. Almost like a no bake cheesecake but it is very creamy, stacked high on a graham cracker crust. I end up taking a part of it home each time. It’s made in house and always tastes very fresh! The service here is impeccable. They have assistants to the waiters/waitresses that bus the table the entire time you are eating replacing bread, filling drinks and getting any little things you may need. We especially enjoy having Charles as our waiter! He is featured on the menu. He was the first server hired at Mungos 40 years ago and still works there and does an excellent job! You can expect to pay $40-$50 a person at dinner but you won’t be...
