I went here for dinner, & my initial impression was of super frustration. I called the night before for reservations, only to arrive at the time I asked and find out that my name wasn't even put down. As a result, the staff said they would slide me to the front of the line. I watched 3 other couples get seated before us, which I understand, but still frustrating.
Once we were finally approached for our table (15-20 mins waiting and standing around) we were seated in a second room, likely used for large gatherings. The romantic and classy atmosphere in the mainroom was no where to be seen in this room, along with pizza parlor style chairs. At least they were comfortable. We were then met with very loud children, and I was just absolutely through the roof upset.
Drinks took a while to make it to the table. Waitress was incredibly nice, though mixed up the orders between our table and the one next to us. Not a huge deal.
My entire evening turned around when the food started to come out. Every single thing I went through up to that point had gone away and was made up for by the food. The toasted ravioli is easily the best i've had in my life. The house salad is next level. I could go there just for these 2 items alone. The entrees were great as well. Highly recommend just for the food alone, and without the mixup with the seating/reservations, it would be the easiest 5 stars ever given. This is truly The Hill quality here in Collinsville. Pricey, but worth every penny. I have paid far more...

Read moreWe love Mungo’s and enjoy their food very much! We have been costumers for many years even when they were located in Fairview heights in front of the mall, then in O’Fallon and now in Collinsville Main Street. I have tried several dishes but my favorite is the shrimp castiglioni. I absolutely love the oil, butter & garlic noodles as the side dish. The mungos house salad is what I start craving first that brings me back! The salad is a mix of romaine and iceberg lettuce. It has prosciutto ham, parmesan & provel cheese. The house dressing is a creamy Italian…yum!! The zucchini sticks are really, really good! I also order the chicken stasilli, chicken mudiga & shrimp scampi. They are delicious! I always order the cheesecake whether I am full or not! It is soft, not hard. Almost like a no bake cheesecake but it is very creamy, stacked high on a graham cracker crust. I end up taking a part of it home each time. It’s made in house and always tastes very fresh! The service here is impeccable. They have assistants to the waiters/waitresses that bus the table the entire time you are eating replacing bread, filling drinks and getting any little things you may need. We especially enjoy having Charles as our waiter! He is featured on the menu. He was the first server hired at Mungos 40 years ago and still works there and does an excellent job! You can expect to pay $40-$50 a person at dinner but you won’t be...
