I recently had the pleasure of visiting Waffle House in East St. Louis, and let me tell you, it was an unforgettable experience! Tucked away in the heart of the city, this delightful eatery offers so much more than your average breakfast joint.
Upon entering, I was greeted with warm smiles from the friendly staff who made me feel right at home. The cozy and inviting ambiance instantly set the tone for a great dining experience. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, giving off a sense of comfort and relaxation.
Now, let's talk about the food! Waffle House boasts an extensive menu that caters to all tastes and cravings. As a breakfast enthusiast, I couldn't resist trying their signature waffles, and boy, they did not disappoint! The waffles were fluffy and golden, cooked to perfection, and topped with a generous serving of butter and syrup - a true delight to my taste buds.
Not only were the waffles amazing, but the selection of toppings and sides available was impressive. I opted for a classic combination of crispy bacon and scrambled eggs, and it was a match made in heaven. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring I left the table feeling fully satisfied.
What impressed me the most, though, was the attentiveness of the staff. They were always ready to fulfill any request promptly and with a smile. It's evident that the team at Waffle House genuinely cares about their customers and takes pride in their work.
Whether you're a local looking for a hearty breakfast or a traveler passing through East St. Louis, Waffle House is an absolute must-visit. I’ve been here multiple times and never had the waffles. Yet.
My first real visit to a Waffle House was during my trip to Florida in 2012. It was at the tail end of a great night… and with it being Spring Break, it was quite a hopping place with party people everywhere. It was such a good time that I didn’t get photos while there. So a bunch of us ended up visiting one later that year on a trip to St. Louis.
This visit was at the end of a long day exploring around St. Louis. We were hungry, slightly tired and ready for a break from driving and sightseeing. If I remember right, I had been the only to try a Waffle House, so my friends were in for a treat.
We stopped around 10pm and it was slow. Staff was quick to seat us and get our drinks. While everyone deliberated on what to order, I went for what I had in Panama City Beach. The TEXAS BACON LOVERS BLT! So we all ordered food and waited.
If you have ever been to a Waffle House, you’ll know the food comes out quick and the prices are cheap, cheap, cheap! This visit was no exception. They also shout orders at the chefs, which enhances the experience. The Texas BLT was just as good as I hazily remembered. Ying loved the bacon so much (can’t blame her) that she ordered a bunch to go. Everyone else enjoyed their meal, too.
Since this visit, I have been back to another Waffle House and it was just as good. People I’ve talked to either love or hate Waffle House, so you may not share the same praise I have for the place. But it is my favorite fast food...
Read moreIts Waffle House, you can generally expect dinner and a show. Tonight I got to be part of the show. After being there for over 30 minutes and halfway done with my meal an employee claiming to be a manager came to me telling me I couldn't park my truck with a trailer where I did. I was near the back of an empty lot and did have 4 or 5 spaces occupied, however there were at least 10 open spots available. She kept telling me to move it behind the building, thats where "big trucks" park. Behind the building is Walgreens lot not Waffle House. I informed her that I would be done and gone in less than 10 minutes and that I wasn't going to let my food get any colder to go move my truck that wasn't causing any issues in the lot. When I finished and walked outside she was standing by a car with 2 other people in it staring me down as I left. When I asked her to clarify where I was supposed to park she again told me to park in another businesses lot. She then proceeded to tell me that I was an a$$hole for not moving it immediately and she should have just had it towed. She told me to leave and never come back, great management in my opinion. Overall, food was about normal server was ok but took 10 minutes to put my order in because the cook disappeared, management needs an upgrade if she was actually a manager, but hey its Waffle House after dark, you never know what...
