I have been to this Firehouse subs 10 - 12 times. I have always got my military discount which is just a free drink. No big deal. When I went in this past week on April 28th 2024, I was told there was no military discount and never has been and when I told her that I have always gotten a military discount she told me I was wrong. Very rude about it so I was like whatever it was. No big deal. When we sat down the TV was so extremely loud that you could couldn't even talk to the person sitting across the table from you. Everyone in the restaurant was complaining. I got up and asked them to turn it down and at first she said no and then she said that they're not allowed to but she would make an exception again. Very rude about it. When I got my food I asked for honey mustard. She said it was in the salad and I told her it was for my sandwich and she said they're not allowed to give it out but she would make an exception again. Very rude about it. Needless to say by this time I was over it. So we ate right quick and we were leaving. I noticed a pickle bucket which if anyone ever eats there, they're $3. So I walked back up to the register and asked if I could get the pickle bucket and the person at the register was totally clueless as always. Anyway, we finally got it rung up and I asked if there were any more and Miss clueless said I don't know so I asked well. Can you go look in the back and the same rude lady that had been hounding me all morning said look. We have a pickle shortage so I'm sure there's no buckets in the back so they didn't even check. So as I was walking out I asked who the manager was and it was this other lady that had been quiet the entire time I was there. So I asked her if she was really the manager? And she said yes. I asked, do you really let her treat customers this way? As rude as she is? Because I can promise you I won't be back because of how rude she is. It is ridiculous. This restaurant has gone from a nice place to grab a sub and my husband's favorite place to get us up to just downright nasty. The food quality is really gone downhill and obviously the ambiance is gone! They absolutely need to fire everybody...
Read moreI have always loved firehouse and often frequented the midlothian location and was always so impressed with both the quality of the food, and the employees that worked there. We always received stellar service. Now we live in Petersburg and frequent the colonial heights location. I work very late long past closing time for everything aside from a handful of gas stations. With that being said, I have a family member go pick up food for me to have something to eat when I get off. It’s not like I order anything crazy, just a medium turkey on white with lettuce, provolone, and mayonnaise. They leave off the provolone every time without fail no matter how explicit we are. Of course, because I work late I don’t realize this until they’ve long since closed. Now here’s my issue. Even if I have a picture and a receipt, they will not refund or replace the next day. This means that if I want it fixed or to be refunded, I have to not eat that night. It’s not like I can just go somewhere else- nowhere is open. Typically I only get food out if there’s no food in the house, so I have to either A. Eat a sandwich that I don’t really want that isn’t what I asked/paid for OR B. Not eat and get what I asked for the next day. Read moreMy husband surprised me with one of my absolute favorite places and sub for lunch today after work because I work in fast food and I work hard to please all of my guests. The smoked brisket cheddar is my favorite and when I say my first bite was rancid is an understatement as soon as I bit down the smell of the meat hit my nose and tongue at the same time I immediately spit the food out and had to rinse my mouth out with mouth wash and then brush my teeth just to get the smell of the rotten meat off my taste buds! There is definitely a problem with the employees on food quality. When I called this location to try and explain it to them I was greeted to a simple hello as if I’d called a friend not a food establishment but I was polite and said hello my husband picked up some subs today and my sub was pretty gross. Whom ever was on the phone said well maybe you should have just made yourself a sandwich at home then bi*^% and hung up! I couldn’t believe what just happened so I waited a few hours and tried to call again 4 times...
