Nice museum full of loads of various antique vehicles as well as vintage signs and displays of several types of products, such as sodas, cigarettes, farm tools, washers, and more. Clean, air-conditioned and heated 3 acre building with benches throughout in case you need to rest. Cute little old fashioned diner serves breakfast and lunch. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and even squeezed in a last minute lunch order for us before they closed at 3 (museum closes at 5). Good ham and cheese melts. Fun way to spend a couple of hours or more. We went on a Wednesday afternoon and there were only a few other people in the entire building. They're expanding the gift shop (which already has a large selection in their current space), so the back area of that is under construction, but it doesn't affect the museum other than a little noise now and then, which wasn't bad. They also participate in the Harvest Host program, so we stayed overnight in their large parking lot with our RV on our way home. Back again in 11/2023 for a Harvest Host stay on a Saturday. They now have 10 RV spots with water and power available for $35, or you can still boondock in one for free as long as you spend some money there one way or the other. We had breakfast Sunday morning which was delicious and plentiful! We highly recommend the homestyle potatoes!😋 Our waitress Laura was lovely and made us feel very welcomed and made our breakfast experience very pleasant. The woman who checked me in for HH in the gift shop must have been having a bad day, as I felt as though she was not happy and even irritated that we were there for some reason. Hope tomorrow is a...
Read moreWe were headed south on 95 and just happened to see this place. I grew up on a small dairy farm and have a love for old tractors. This place is amazing and the collection just keeps going and going from room to room. I saw tractors I drove as a kid in like new condition. We didn’t have much time to look but we did carve out two hours and now I’ll be back again someday. We entered the gift shop and they have hundreds of those little flags you hang on the black metal rod and then stab into the ground. We are staying in a motor home in Florida for the winter and I was using a rental car to go back home to Vermont for business so I had a car with me. I wanted to find a flag with a camper on it to buy for my wife as she had been looking. The clerk helped me look and eventually I gave up and went through the museum. When I came back she had found one and I bought that with the stand for around $25. I just couldn’t believe this nice lady would spend all of that time looking. When I checked out they mentioned they have 10 campsites out back and that they also belong to Harvest Host. She mentioned the sites were a full hookup and were $35 a night. I know next time I’m stopping here. And the restaurant was busy and made me wish we hadn’t just eaten. It was I and my 25 year old son and my wife was back in Florida while we had gone to Vermont and were on our way back. Anyhow we both fell in love...
Read moreThe museum is decent, the food at the restaurant is good, the museum has a decent selection but the customer service is seriously lacking. We waited half an hour to be seated, ordered right away and still waited another half hour to receive our food. Our waitress never came by and checked on us during that half hour or even after we received our food. When it came time to pay, she did not give me the change portion of my change, only the bills. When I brought it up to her she rudely said that it wasn't their policy to give the change, but if I wanted my change it was just over there in the register! Insinuating for me to go get it out of the register! After pointing out to her how doing that adds and and is theft from the customer she brought back my change, but gave me too much! She didn't even bother to count it. I gave her the excess as her tip, because that is all she deserved.
When I went to get my tickets, the lady charged me $9 for an adult ticket and when I mentioned to her that the website says military is $5 she rudely stated that was for active duty only. I told her that was not clear on the website, that generally military includes veterans and dependents. She was very salty. These 2 poor encounters made it difficult to enjoy the museum and I am not...
