I've been coming here since 2007 when the location was on Centennial and have always had a plesant experience. This was true until as of late. Before I deep dive into what went wrong, I want to first say that Crystal has always been delightful at the Fillmore location.

Melissa has had an attitude problem every time I come in (and I come in pretty frequently). The last time I came in, she was the one serving the drinks and it was early in the morning. i had ordered White mochas and I thought she remarked on how bright it was and I replied "it sure is", but apparently she was asking about the size. This was made clear when she rudely raised her voice and just said "SIZE!!!" like I had committed sme crime by mishearing her. I glazed over this and chalked it up to "everyone has a bad day".

This morning, I came in to make a large order and called in at 6:25 to report that I would be picking up around 20-30 pastries. She told me very rudely that I "should have called 24-48 hours ago for an order so large". There is no sign on the website nor posted in the store that this is true, but I was supposed to have just telepathically known this without previous disclosure. I advised that I intendded to give a warning as a heads up and she just rudely said "yeah well, okay bye" and hung up.

Melissa either needs a new job or needs to go back into the bakery where she doesn't face customers. Did she never learn customer service? How about general respect for others? The next time she pulls attitude with me in the store, I plan on being very mouthy and loud about it. I hope someone talks to her so it doesn't come to that point. Her capacity to provide even general customer service may be foregone though. She obviously has no interest in being respectful to the customers who keep the place in business. What good is it to have good (and extremely high priced) pastries if you sacrifice what...

My family is part Dutch, and I myself speak Dutch, and I have been to Holland multiple times. While I never found their pastries particularly authentic, I frequently visit Boonzaijers to buy many of the Dutch groceries and treats in order to support a local dutch business. I usually leave with a basket full and spend well over $100. Sadly, today, and going forward they will not be getting a single cent from me. Today, a person experiencing homelessness walked in there and asked the only other customer in there to buy him a cup of coffee. When they refused, I offered and attempted to order a cup of coffee for him. One of their employees, a blond girl wearing a high bun, quickly walked up and said we're out of coffee. She didn't say, I need to make more... ...No, she said we're out! The employee I originally asked then came up to me in the candy isle to re-iterate that they were out and didn't want that guy there. She seemed uncomfortable even telling me this. As they say in Dutch, Boonzaijers, je zou je dood moeten schamen!! ...Shame on you for not letting me purchase a coffee for another human being!! For judging and denying someone actual paying service because of their difficulties and appearance. Especially since your store had only one other set of customers in there. It was practically EMPTY!! Where's the harm in letting someone drink a cup of coffee and warm up for a few minutes. Where's the humanity? I will NEVER spend a single cent in your store ever again. Most of that stuff is either available on Amazon or at other dutch stores in...

If I could give this place 0 stars I would I called yesterday wanting them to put a coffee cake on the side for me and pay over the phone and the lady stated “first come first serve” and I let her know I come every month for my company to get pastries and coffee cakes every week and order over the phone she kept being rude over the phone (assistant manager) I asked her for a different manager (the baker) she told me that she isn’t available and can’t take my call so I asked for her name and she stated “she was uncomfortable giving out her name?” As a manager you should be able to give me your name so that was weird so I call back in and finally get to talk to the baker and when I do she tells me that they can put it to the side I told her I’ll just order for the next day because of how ridiculous that was. I come in the next day to grab what I ordered to find out they had the “wrong communication” and didn’t even listen to what I ordered so I wait in line for 30 minutes and get to the counter and see it’s 2 different cakes and not the same cake with those flavors … I tell the lady that that’s ridiculous .. and if I can have them for the price of one because it was wrong. She tells me no and to order again if I want that and to wait the next day Because they can’t make it today. I come here all the time and spend so much money at this price going forward I will never come back and I will make sure my family and friends don’t either and will be putting this on all my promotion sites .. this is the worst costumer service! This places employees...

Disregard Austin Powers' perspective on the Dutch – trust me, 'OMG' doesn't even come close to capturing the essence of this place. Boonzaaijer’s Dutch Bakery is like a spontaneous getaway to Europe right in your own backyard. Brace yourself for an extraordinary journey of flavors and aromas. As we delved into about 8 different pastries, we were transported to a serene grass meadow beneath a charming windmill on a warm spring day. Each bite was a passport to a world of authentic taste and nostalgia. Despite a line upon our arrival, it whisked us along in no time, a testament to the bakery's efficiency. Here's a delightful twist - we live roughly an hour away. Is that a blessing or a curse? It's both a blessing because it saves us from consuming 2,000 calories a day in pastries, and a curse because it's a challenge to resist the urge to make this a weekly Sabbath tradition. And the surprises keep coming. Boonzaaijer’s Dutch Bakery doesn't just offer delectable pastries; they also house a treasure trove of packaged souvenirs, candies, and cookies imported straight from the Netherlands. An unexpected treat that adds to the magic. For Moses, it was like stepping into the Promised Land. He insists, without a hint of doubt, that a visit to this Dutch bakery is a must. Boonzaaijer’s Dutch Bakery is more than a bakery; it's an experience you'll want to relive time and again. Visited on August 12, 2023

Joyeaux Mardi Gras! This is my first time trying their baked goods. I was so happy to get a decently priced ($12.50) and sized (~8") cake. I've had many types of king cake, and this one is unique. It's flakey and layered like a laminated pastery dough, but denser, as you expect a cake to be. It's not flaky like a croissant. It's not overly sweet, but is decadent for someone who doesn't eat much sugar. I only deduct 1 star because I ordered a cream cheese cake, and I couldn't find the cream cheese. The frosting is definitely a standard sugar frosting, and I expected a filling. It's possible the cream cheese was in the layers of dough and melted into the cake as it baked, which would contribute to the tender density of the cake. It's still very tasty, but I will probably add my own cream cheese for the rest of the cake for the added decadence I expect from a King Cake. PS- the cake slicer is from another bakery in Louisiana, and not related to the cake at all. It's just the only one I have.

I am SO IMPRESSED!!!!! I spoke with Mary over the phone after I fumbled and didn’t order the cake as early as I meant to. I sent her a picture of the invitation I made and THIS was the result 😍😍😍 not only did it turn out PERFECTLY, it tasted like heaven on a fork. I wish I knew the baker’s name to be able to give them a shout out by name, but whichever one of you made this, my daughter and all of her friends were so excited and in love with this beautiful masterpiece of a cake! Thank you guys for helping make her day special. I also want to mention that it was refreshing to not feel like I needed to sell my left kidney to be able to afford such a nice cake. Making kids’ birthday party dreams some true AND having reasonable prices, what more can you ask for as a mom?! The top notch customer service was just the absolute cherry on top. Thank you, Boonzaaijer’s!!!!
