Ok.. we've been here several times and there always seems to be an issue e.g. I always get burgers, I like mine medium. Every single time I order a burger here I ask for it to be cooked medium and every time its well done. My wife always asks for here's medium well and she usually gets it rare. We always end up trading and no one is happy. I don't like sending food back so we just deal with it. We go back because we enjoy the vibes and my kids love it. We went a few weeks back and this time my wife ordered a chicken salad. She got really sick, vomiting and an upset stomach. On top of that, they forgot about out apps and then brought them out after our entrees had been served and... screwed up the app order. When I asked the girl why they did and if she can speak to her manager to possibly get a discount she literally had a panic attack and just flat out refused. I insited, she agreed, but looked like she was about to have a heart attack. I felt bad so I followed after her and told her to forget about it.... we went back... I know im an idiot but there aren't many options like them in the springs, im a forgiving guy and thought we'd give them another chance. We were there for mothers day. Noah was our server and he was thee best server we've ever had there, the dude was on point and made us feel at home. We all ordered out food, it was actually prepared nicely and we were happy, we thought, hey, they've redeemed themselves. We went home and about midnight and two of my kids who happend to share a nacho appetizer and both ordered Mac n cheese woke up screaming and vomiting. They emptied their stomachs all over the house and were in extreme pain, and scared. My wife, on mother's day, spent all night cleaning up their mess. I know it was bubbas... it was the 2nd time this happened and we didnt eat anything that would've triggered that earlier. I called, pissed off at midnight expecting to leave a message but a manager answered. I told what had happend and he apologized and offered a coupon or credit for our next meal. I told him we wouldn't be going back and that I wanted a refund. He says they can't do refunds... after speaking to him for a bit he finally agreed. He didnt seem very concerned with the situation and when we hung up he tells me to have a nice day. Smh... that was the last straw and we wont be back. Should've learned my lesson after the first couple of times. I've seen their employees in the restroom walk out without washing their hands. I assumed, maybe theyre washing them in the kitchen... lol theyre not, its unsanitary and dangerous. Beware!!! My kids took two days off of school and my house...
Read moreComing in around mid-afternoon on a Sunday, we were starving. We decided to visit a place we haven’t been to in a long time. We settled on Bubba’s after driving around for a little bit.
The host sat us down promptly even with the place being pretty busy. We were sat in the normal dining area and it was pretty peaceful for 2:30 PM.
The server was attentive and did very well at making sure to check in at our table.
My wife started it out with a wildcard and decided to get a drink - the 18oz. Mango Frozen Margarita - lines with sugar. The flavor was very sweet but definitely matched the profile of the drink.
We ended up ordering a half order of onion rings and mozzarella sticks to start.
The mozzarella sticks showcased a great “cheese pull” that I definitely wasn’t expecting. The taste was pretty good as well with the marinara sauce being served warm. Always a nice touch to have warm marinara sauce with mozzarella sticks.
The onion rings came out piping hot and ready to be dipped in their signature “Bubba’s sauce”. This sauce is definitely “their” version of the popular chicken tender vinegar sauce that compliments fried food well. It’s basically a barbecue sauce with some other spices (pepper & chili powder). Definitely don’t miss out on the Bubba Sauce or the onion rings. These slapped.
The wife ordered the Bubba 33’s Bacon Burger. This burger was whopping in size. It features two beef patties along with thick bacon to satisfy. She enjoyed the burger but rightfully so couldn’t finish it.
I thought the chicken tenders were pleasant. These were lightly coated in breading which allows the white breast meat to shine through. I’m very glad to see that they didn’t let the batter overshadow the chicken.
We both had sides of seasoned fries which are closer to a skinnier variety but not shoestring. These allowed maximum crisp and crunch to satisfy.
The tater tots were pretty standard but still maintained a solid crunch.
Overall the main winner here is the oil all of these items were cooked in tasted fresh. None of the items had a “bad oil aftertaste”. Props to the kitchen staff on rotating the oil. That’s probably why the fried sides (specifically the onion rings) were so memorable.
Overall, all of this food for $55 before tip is amazing value. If you’re starving or you need to have a place to watch sports, go here. You won’t be...
Read moreThis place has been so solid for so long for me and my friends. That was until last night. Four of us were in the bar area for 2.5 hours.
In this time, I had 3 domestic beers, two friends had 4 domestic beers each, another friend had 2 domestic beers and two shots. All inside the bar, which is always loud with music and patrons talking.
Throughout our drinks, we also ordered wings and fries for the table. We aren’t small men, by any means, and this isn’t our first time having drinks. So when our waitress ended her shift 2 hrs into our stay, we tabbed out so she could receive her tips. She was great by the way. Very punctual, friendly, and took great care of us, which is the main reason we closed out and were told that another server will be over soon.
30 minutes later, a worker (don’t know if he is a bar tender, server or cook) approaches the table (Dyvon) and tells us that we have had too much and cannot no longer stay. Collectively, we thought that this guy was joking, but turned out that apparently what we had ordered to drink was too much for them to continue to serve us (13 domestic beers and two shots between 4 large men), even though we also ordered food.
I proceed to give the guy shit, because it’s apparent that after eating and not being served for 30 minutes, we had overstayed our welcome. He wasn’t a fan of this or me calling him Dyvon, so we proceed to leave.
I tell Dyvon that reviews will be left, which will not be flattering, to which he states “perfect, we love those. It shows that we care for our patrons and know when they had enough”. He wasn’t aware of his hypocritical statement, because earlier he said “you can drink somewhere else, but just not here”. So how does that align with “taking care of our patrons”?
On our way out, Dyvon tells us that we need to pay our tab, to which I proceed to show him my receipt of payment and let him know that it’s not hard to do your due diligence and check your system if you don’t think we paid our tab.
Again, we’ve been coming here for years and have never had an experience like this. So needless to say, we won’t be coming back, as there are so many options is this great city that we live in.
There will come a day when servers with an authoritative mindset will be replaced by machines and with no other survivable skills will be living...
