This was our very first time visiting Rib & Chop, and Father’s Day felt like the perfect occasion to surprise my dad with finally getting to try it after mentioning it for some time. Unfortunately, while parts of our experience were great, several issues made it less than ideal.
⭐️ Highlights:
First and foremost, our server Max was absolutely SUPERB—kind, attentive, quick, and knowledgeable. The hostess (whose name I sadly didn’t catch) was also wonderful—gracious, helpful, and quick to step in when needed. Their service was ABOVE AND BEYOND was definitely a bright spot of our visit!

🚫 The Not-So-Great:
Spilling Incident:
Another server (a woman with a low bun and a neck tattoo) brought out our appetizers. While handing a plate to my dad, she accidentally knocked over his beer, which spilled all over my mom and caused quite a scene as my mom yelped from how cold the drink was and drenched she became in it. I understand trying to joke about it to lighten the mood even though my mom was clearly upset, uncomfortable, and soaking wet, but the server had the AUDACITY to BLAME IT ALL ON MY DAD! And NOT ONCE DID SHE APOLOGIZE!! THAT was what upset us the most and made this experience unsettling. Max, even though he wasn’t involved and likely didn’t witness the spill, rushed over immediately, apologized profusely, and helped clean up. His professionalism surpassed that of the other server. Mistakes happen—but failing to take responsibility in a service role is disappointing. We seriously considered boxing up our meals and leaving, but my mom encouraged us to stay. Manager Ryan came by while I was in the restroom and apparently apologized and offered to cover the cost of my mom’s dry cleaning.

Bathroom Issue:
While my mom was in the restroom for over 20 minutes trying to clean herself up, I also needed to use the restroom—only to find no toilet paper in either stall. I asked two separate staff members over the course of 10–15 minutes, but no one responded quickly. Finally, the hostess walked by while asking the final employee, and she immediately turned around to handle it herself. She apologized sincerely, and I truly appreciated her urgency and kindness.
⸻
🍽 Food Feedback: • Steak: I requested medium, but it was served well done and tough. Thankfully, Max noticed and had it remade right away. The second steak was fantastic—juicy, tender, and cooked perfectly. • Rice: Both of my parents ordered the wild rice, but it tasted burnt, like it came from the bottom of the pot… • Appetizers: We tried the Bang’n Salmon and the crab-stuffed mushrooms—both were flavorful and well-seasoned. • Entrees at the table included: • Surf & Turf • Turf & Turf with ribs • Chicken Broccoli Alfredo • Brown Sugar Salmon
We also decided to try the carrot soufflé, which is now my dad’s new favorite dish.
⸻
👏 Final Impressions:
At the end of our meal, another manager, Chase, stopped by to speak with us. Despite being new to management, he handled the conversation with poise, professionalism, and genuine care. He informed us that our entire bill had been taken care of, which we were deeply grateful for.

Overall:
While the drink spill incident cast a shadow over our visit, Max, the hostess, and both managers genuinely did their best to turn things around. Some food items were a hit, others missed the mark. I’m not sure the rest of my family will be back anytime soon, but if Max is working, I might give Rib & Chop...

This place is so inconsistent, and I hate to say it’s often more disappointing than not.
Let me run you through Monday night:
We order the spinach dip app (this is the highlight of the night, and the only food some of us ate)
We ordered 2 rib eyes medium rare, and one NY strip medium rare.
3 loaded baked potatoes come out… cool to the touch. Not kind of warm, just cold. The butter isn’t even considering softening inside.
We hate to send things back, but we did…
While the potatoes are gone we cut into our steaks (this is the first time I haven’t been asked to cut my steak open to the ensure it’s cooked right. YOU SHOULDNT HAVE TO CUT YOUR STEAK IN HALF AT A STEAK HOUSE TO MAKE SURE ITS COOKED RIGHT)
One ribeye is medium, one ribeye is blue blue. The strip is wildly blue, I’m talking like maybe broke 100° blue.
Out come the potatoes. Our waiter alerts us that “the kitchen couldn’t get them out of the foil, so they had to beat them up a bit before microwaving them” so not only are they microwave reheated, but the cheese doesn’t even melt… you know what cheese doesn’t melt? Grocery store pre shredded junk. So we have hot microwaved sour cream, microwaved green onions, half melted cheese and some very unappetizing potatoes.
We alert our waiter, Matt (who was great by the way)
And he offers to take the steaks back. We only send the strip back… 10 minutes later, out comes the strip. STILL WILDLY UNDERDONE with a crust like a hockey puck like they put it under a high broiler.
At this point we’ve given up on dinner.
One of us enjoyed the ribeye though overcooked, one ate the blue ribeye just to avoid anymore issues and didn’t enjoy it, and we sent back the strip and that person made food when we got home.
I honestly can’t understand how I’ve never had a steak cooked right from this place. The fact they ask you to cut it open annoys me… the fact it’s always cooked wrong really bothers me.
Biggest issue of this evening is that the only thing taken off our bill was the steak we sent back after 1 small bite. I wouldn’t have paid for it anyway.
No manager in sight. I’m sure the entire kitchen knew what was going on at our table, but nobody came over and said anything.
Again, if you’re going to have a burger at the bar, not a bad offering.
Not dining with wine apps and steak here again.
Photos attached for enjoyment.

Read moreThis was a first time experience for myself and my daughter over the Christmas break. We've been wanting to try this place for quite a while so a Thursday evening when they weren't too busy turned out to be the right choice. To start off, the service was excellent, our servers quick and attentive and very pleasant. It was the food where they fell down.
The crab stuffed mushrooms topped with the mushroom sherry sauce appetizer were very good, the salads (side and Caesar) were just the right size and were freshly made.
The dinner courses are where things went wrong. I ordered the Shrimp and Scallop Pasta Alfredo. First the pasta wasn't fettuccine like what appears in the photos...instead it was a tubular pasta like ziti though the description didn't specify. The sauce didn't remotely taste like an Alfredo, more like a buttercream, and was loaded with small 51 - 60 shrimp making the dish taste VERY salty along with a heaping of bay scallops also increasing the salty flavor. For the cost of that dish it should have been made with sea scallops and less but larger shrimp. Very disappointing for what in essence is a seafood Alfredo.
My daughter ordered the grilled T-bone pork chop. Now it did come out perfectly grilled and sizzling on the plate, however it was WAY over seasoned making it also taste incredibly salty for the most part, though she said a few bites seemed like there was no seasoning on that portion at all. I tasted it it and she also tasted mine and we both agreed that the flavor balance on both dishes were way out of wack.
My daughter (who is about to graduate college this upcoming year majoring in culinary arts) said it best....BALANCE is the key. My dish should have used far less but larger shrimp and sea scallops, not cheap bay scallops (and bay scallops ARE cheap), fettuccine noodles and a REAL Alfredo sauce, not their interpretation of it.....if that sauce had any Parmesan cheese in it i'll eat my hat. And when seasoning meat, MODERATION is what gives it great taste. You shouldn't get cotton mouth after eating a well prepared meat dish because the sodium content is so high. We're willing to try them again at some point to see how some of their other dishes hold up but this first experience was a disappointment. We did bring our leftovers home, but they wound up in the trash as soon as we walked in realizing that nobody was going...
