The afternoon of Oct 5th...Went inside for carry-out. Got an awesome pup cup, a shake for my husband & a blizzard for myself. The lady was very nice & maybe a bit too helpful. When she gave me the blizzard it was filled way above the cup line which is great but I was wanting a lid for it. She asked if I wanted a lid & of course I told her yes. I assumed she would get me one of those tall lids like an upside cup that snaps onto the peanut buster parfait cups. But instead she grabbed a regular top like a soda lid & proceeded to smash it way down to the rim which made alot of the ice cream spill out & over the rim of the main cup. Not to mention it was melting too so it was running down the sides to the counter. I made a brief comment that it was really messy now & I honestly don't know what I was expecting at this point. So she grabbed my blizzard, took the cap off, walked over to the garbage can & took my spoon out of the blizzard & began leveling it off with the long handle of the spoon several times just inches from the trash can. She then put the spoon right back into my blizzard & set it down on the counter again. Still all messy on the outside but even more now. She then set a new lid on the counter top as she went to take the next person's order. I would rather have foregone the lid than for her to dispose of a third of my ice cream FOR me after I already payed for it. Not to mention unsanitary & a bit awkward. By the time I got out to my vehicle, it was mostly melted & still so messy I had to use more napkins & baby wipes to clean my hands & the outside of the cup. We will not be back to this Dairy Queen again. Just drove away wondering what the heck just happened & very put-off as that's the best way I can describe the...
Read moreI don’t usually take the time to write a Google review. However, last night on 9/2/2025 at around 7:45PM, we were very disappointed in the service we received from a front counter staff largely made up of teens when we ordered a cake at your Fillmore Dairy Queen. Each question I asked about the cake seemed to be a joke to the staff. Connor was the rudest. Connor had a hard time forming basic thoughts; he greeted my teen daughter and I with the “Gen Z stare” followed by brief comments while treating me as if I was stupid. The worst was when Connor and another teen female employee laughed at my daughter for the way she said something as we attempted to make small talk. I wanted to walk out and end the whole transaction, but, I completed it because I needed a last minute cake for my husband’s birthday. I am a teacher and my teen daughter (who was in attendance) works at a different nearby fast food restaurant and we both left feeling hurt and uncomfortable. Connor and the other young female employee who was standing next to him would greatly benefit from more training in basic customer service skills or maybe they should work in the back? We aren’t interested in returning to this location during the...
Read moreOrdering ahead is something that we have all had to get used to or we are still suffering the decline in the service industry post covid. When I am greeted with a smile as I walk in to an establishment, it truly does make any wait seem a bit less grueling. This crew was not the worst that i have experienced lately, but they could use a little crash course on customer service because nobody really wants to see that you are miserable at your place of work. Overall, my experience was great, but it always feels a bit awkward while standing around waiting to be addressed by an employee after a few minutes... Not knowing if anyone else has been helped or who is supposed to be helping the front counter because it doesn't seem like anyone is too busy, but then again... They must be too busy to share a smile or hello? Am I alone on this notion? Does it seem strange to be cheerful these days in age? Where have all of the bubbly personalities gone? To truly find happiness, you must give it away... Smiling is contagious so spread the happy today... You never know how or who you may impact by letting your light shine! That is all. Thanks...
