As a 5 star shef,( only saying that to make sure you know the relevance, ) I was told by my boss to take off 3 days celebrate my husband's and my anniversary of 23 years, they paid for the stay at Cheyenne mountain resort to make sure I did it. We decided to spend a day at Alluvial spa and found Gate's Grille, had brunch of the Denver omelet, and the classic eggs Benedict. We ordered something to drink they weren't familiar with which is a Moscow mule Mimosa and Todd listened and made it to perfection. The omelet was perfect, seasoned potatoes were the perfect twice cooked and the eggs Benedict was smokey and perfectly prepared. We decided to have cocktails after the spa and Jason was excellent with his drink skills. Figure anything that good we'd give him a challenge, and asked for a Dole whip Mimosa with supper when we came back. Note there are several nice restaurants close by and several the resort owns, still wanted to come back to see what they could show me. We arrived and were seated quickly, the waitress, I apologize I didn't catch her name was wonderful, the meal of steak was amazing, the potato puree and charred asparagus was brilliant! I also received Jason's version of a Dole Whip and to be honest was better than the original. I had asked for a pot of coffee and a chocolate lava cake and carrot cake to be delivered to my room at a certain time and they made it happen. The darkest rich coffee and the most delicious deserts arrived at the correct time. We had other food while at the resort and nothing compared. Our last meal before leaving was a beautiful brunch served by Todd who didn't like the way the toast looked and he did it himself. Perfect end to a great weekend. Anyone who doesn't like this place is either a cheap skate or a Karen. I wasn't impressed with the resort but Alluvial and Gate's Grille were...
Read moreLast Friday morning we waited between 10:45am and 11:30am without anyone bringing water to the table after being seated, and no one took our order. the excuse was "we're short staffed" but they had plenty of time to bus dirty tables around us. So...tidying up empty tables was more important than serving actual guests. Three separate servers kept buzzing back and forth, but when we'd say "we're ready to order" we'd hear "sorry, we need to wait on this table with a reservation" or "sorry I don't actually work here, I'm just cleaning tables". it was, literally, THE WORST "dining" (since we didn't dine, that's a loose term in this situation) experience I've ever had. it was like we were in an episode of "Restaurant Twilight Zone". Based on reading past reviews, the "short staffed" pandemic-related excuse is really not applicable. and it would have taken just a few seconds to drop off water and another couple of minutes to take our order. there were just 3 of us, and only 2 were going to eat. horrible, unprofessional, and...
Read moreWorst service in the evening. I attended a conference here in April. The staff was very rude. We were told we had to look at the menu on our phone. 30 minutes later the waitress returned with some drinks, to take our order. When we ordered we were told, in an annoyed tone, that we couldn’t have some foods because the menu had changed and they were no longer on the menu. Finally got our order in, 45 minutes later our food came out, some was burned, meat was not cooked to order, and allergy accommodations that were requested were not made. Then we had to ask for silverware. We waited ten minutes, with food in front of us, for silverware, and another 30 for wrong orders to be fixed. When the issues were brought to our waitresses attention, she said “ oh. Sorry.” And walked off. She added her own gratuity to the bill, which I subtracted. Sorry, I leave cash tips. Don’t assume, the party wasn’t that big. Here’s a...
