Amazing place. I just met the owner, he's one of 4 brothers that run the locations here in colorado springs. They actually compete for the best Google review so I figured I'd help out!
The food is incredible. I placed a togo order and they had it out on 10 minutes. I ordered the ultimate platter - gyro and chicken shwarma, falafel, hummus, Greek salad and pita. Their magic sauce is EXACTLY that, magic. I ordered a side of tazaki- should've gotten a magic sauce... it was so damn good. Meats and falafel cooked to perfection. The falafel is heart shaped - I thought it was a super great touch- but it was the perfect consistency and texture which I really appreciate. The housemate hummus is delicious.
My only reservations are the taziki and the Greek salad. The taziki has large chunks of cucumber so I don't feel like it's the right consistency or flavor. I'd matchstick and double cut the cucumber, maybe let it sit a little for flavor development, but that's just me. As for the Greek salad, it was packed together in the same box as my hot platter and it was just soggy and gross, not to mention over 50% of the salad was banana peppers. I was expecting lettuce, tomato, cucumber, feta, olive & the Greek dressing packed separately to help keep food good for transport. It's what it is.
The employees and owner are very kind and I'm very happy with my meal. I really appreciate yall and your efforts and hardwork. Keep it up!!
Much love guys.

Read moreDuring winter break we travelled from Dallas to Colorado Springs , we had the pleasure of visiting Heart of Jerusalem and were absolutely blown away by the authentic Middle Eastern flavors and warm hospitality.
We started our meal with the Manakeesh, a traditional flatbread topped with za’atar and olive oil. It was perfectly baked, flavorful, and made for a delicious appetizer.
The Kabob Sampler and Ultimate Platter was a feast. Each kabob grilled to perfection. Each bite was juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. It’s the perfect choice for anyone wanting to try a bit of everything. Meanwhile, the Veggie Platter was equally satisfying, loaded with fresh falafel, grape leaves, tabbouleh, and creamy hummus.
Speaking of falafel—wow! The falafel here is simply mouth-watering. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, it pairs wonderfully with their homemade hummus.
To round out our meal, we sipped on their sage tea, which was a fragrant and soothing finish to our feast. It’s the kind of drink that leaves a lasting impression and perfectly complements the rich flavors of the food.
As visitors to the area, we couldn’t have asked for a better Middle Eastern Restaurant. Heart of Jerusalem exceeded all expectations with its authentic dishes, generous portions, and welcoming atmosphere. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this is a must-visit spot for a truly memorable...
Read moreAmazing food, unbelievable quality control for entrees. One of the best HOJ experiences I've had. However, the Baklava, which is expensive by the piece is very inconsistent in quality. Half the time, as was the case just last night, 7/31/25, ours was bone dry and flavorless because it was simply OLD. I know the difference because the fresh Baklava I have had at HOJ is sweet sticky and culinary perfection when it is not several days old. I live 30-minutes away, and always order for carry out, so there is never anything I can do on the spot about it. Please stop giving loyal, frequent customers third-rate desserts. I noticed a lot of food poisoning comments here as well - I call baloney on that. I have a sensitive stomach personally, and have eaten consistently from all the HOJ locations for 10 years. I have never had food poisoning, nor has my husband. Those claiming they did, I think you just have a weak constitution and can't handle spices. That is not the owner's fault. Certain types of foods are fiber rich... like falafel and hummus, which has a certain effect on the human body. That is not food poisoning though LOL. Don't smear a good restaurant just because you don't understand your own body's...
