JB's Burger Kitchen + Bar — Restaurant in Colorado Springs

What a scam. Their POS system was "down" so it was cash only but they didn't tell us before ordering, so we had to use the ATM in the lobby. For some reason they said they could not charge our room. I don't see why not. We were staying for 2 nights and it would have been a quick phone call to verify our room. I just assume they were skimming.

We had a toddler and all over the website and in-room signage Holiday Inn IHG boasts that "kids eat free." We were not offered a kid menu and ordered the toddler something from the appetizers. Doing the math (again, not even presented with a bill because the system was "down"), we were charged for the toddler meal. Reading the fine print, maybe it's because we did not order from the kid menu we didn't get.

The server spent her whole time at the bar waiting on the 2 people there and she never stopped by our table except to take the order and drop food off. There was also another party at a table but they left shortly after we ordered. So they weren't busy for only having one server. We were given small waters that were never refilled and wanted to order drinks, since it was a full bar, but never even got the chance.

Okay so I didn't even want to leave this review because I've never left anything so bad in my life. I have traveled a lot and been to a lot of places this was by far the worst food and service I've ever seen in my entire life. The kitchen staff was fighting with the bar staff, the bar staff and waiters were arguing and complaining in front of the customers, we had to send my wifes food back because there was bread bag clips in my wife's flatbread and we were the first of four customers to return their food items in less than the course of one hour. The worst part all they did was say that the cook sucked and take off one little thing on your bill. IHG and Holiday Inn should be completely embarrassed to have this shitshow of a restaurant on their property I will never stay at this hotel because of this restaurant. Bar staff are fantastic... Food is disappointing. A mixed bag.

First the positives. The beer selection is excellent and fairly priced. The bar staff are delightful, friendly and helpful. The bar is immaculate. You could not come to a friendlier place. It's calm and relaxed. Ideal as a hotel bar.

Now the negatives.The food is pretty much from the bottom draw. Dead salads, greasy potatoes, 'cheese omelettes' with the eggs thrown on a cold plate and cheese dumped on top with raw onions. A sausage platter with appricot jam(!).I ended up eating here on multiple nights because I was staying at the adjoining hotel. That's the only reason I ate more than once. I know COVID has his businesses and they did have kitchen issues, but the food basics just are not there.

It's a shame because the venue is brilliant. Good music, clean facilities; again I cannot compliment the bar staff enough. And if the management read this, please let them know they...
