So we're not from this area and we decided to go grab lunch; we got a slice and a sub. They were short staffed that day so we decided to have some forgiveness and some compassion even though the sub sandwich took 37+ minutes to get out to us on a to go order that we waited in the restaurant for. We honest to God think that the staff forgot about our sub sandwich, and we had to keep bugging them to get it made on time. Later that night we regretted not getting a full sized pizza, so we ordered a four topping pizza. A margarita add pepperoni, (nothing overly convoluted) and got delivery over the phone. The pizza was missing half its toppings burnt on the bottom. The entire price delivery, tip, tax, and all was vehemently high !!!! We spent about $50 and that was not including the lunch that we had ordered earlier that afternoon. When we spoke to the night staff over the phone that same night they said that they would compensate us by "giving us a free pizza the next afternoon" (a pepperoni and cheese), but refused to remake the order that they had gotten wrong originally without charging us full price all over again. We wasted gas money driving back over there just so that way they could tell us that over the phone that we were getting nothing after all. The free pizza we got with our original order was just a simple cheese, but was completely burnt on the bottom also, and we couldn't even enjoy that pizza either. Both managers that we talk to were extremely rude to us, but one particularly stood out like a sore thumb and kept screaming at us through the phone: "But the pizza(s) were good, wasn't it?!?! But the food was good, wasn't it?!?!" ^^ No it wasn't any good, and eventually we had to hang up and just let it go. They refused to give us a refund on any of our order other than the four dollars for the toppings that they missed. I will not recommend this place to anyone. Even having to buy a brand new pizza with only 15% off the order is completely unacceptable after all this drama. The food was so mediocre. They were trying to blame us the customers for the fact that they were horribly understaffed. Believe me when I say anyone can advertise themselves as the best pizza place of anywhere, but this was most definitely not it !!!! Two...
Read moreThe best pizza in town for sure.
Had to come back and leave another review since it has changed to Red Rock.
Back when I lived in the Springs, Joey’s was my spot. I moved away in 2021 and when I came back I thought I was walking into Joey’s again. Turns out it’s now Red Rock Pizzeria. I didn’t even know they switched owners until this kid Nathan broke it down for me. The way he was talking, I legit thought he was the owner. He had that kind of passion, selling the food like it was his life’s work.
Now I’m from Buffalo. We don’t call them buffalo wings, we just call them hot wings. And when it was Joey’s, I never liked their hot wings so I’d always stick with barbecue. Nathan kept hyping them up though, so I said alright let’s see if you’re for real. And he was. Wings came out crispy, saucy, and full of flavor. He made me a believer.
The pizza was on point too. Perfect New York style. Thin crust, fold it up, cheese melting just right. I’ve been to New York, I know what real pizza is supposed to be like, and this was it.
Nathan deserves credit. If I started a business tomorrow that’s the kind of guy I’d want working with me. Genuine, passionate, and he actually cares about the food and the customer. Between him and the quality of what I ate, Red Rock Pizzeria is an...
Read moreThis pizza is as good as it gets anywhere under the sun. I may be average in alot of things I do in life but pizza consumption is something I am an expert at. But enough about me.
This pizza has it all. The cheese is just right. A perfect amount of mozzarella to tantalize as you are making your way through the first layer of heaven that is this pizza. And the sauce. Man the sauce is done in exquisite fashion. It has the right amount of seasoning and is applied in just the right amount. And goodness the crust. My oh my the crust. It's done to that perfect golden brown to help you cocoon this NY style slice down your gullet the way God intended pizza to be eaten. Everything in life has to be done from the bottom up with a worthwhile foundation. This crust is no exception. It is the quintessential part of a true NY style pizza and Joey's knocks it out of the park. But Joey's doesn't stop there. They have the best garlic knots I have ever had.
I had the pleasure of speaking to some of the staff and I discovered that Joey's is family owned and operated. It is fantastic to know anytime I'm in Colorado Springs I can stop at one of their several locations to get my grub on. I truly enjoyed my time there and can't wait...
