First timers- referred by friends and family to give it a try. We always had another place we would go to..and damn it we may have found our new favorite spot! The only reason it doesn’t surpass our normal spot is the patio you watch 8th street traffic rather than the peaceful river buuuuuut the food definitely is almost better if not better! Holy smokes it was amazing and dang it, I didn’t even take a picture!! My margarita was everything anyone needs after a long day. One will do the trick! 😉 The chips and salsa had me almost begging like a dog for more. Have you seen Encino man where he drinks the bowl of salsa? Yea- that could have been me but I had to share with my date. I always order the same thing at any Mexican cuisine - this time I saw a pic on the menu and decided to go out of the box. I ordered the Chimichanga Mazatlan. It was a seafood chimi with this sauce that has you tingling while devouring every bite! And I must say- the rice is my favorite of any Mexican restaurant! It was delicious! I never finish my plate and this time I could have licked it had I not been on a date 😂 or others around. My husband wouldn’t think I was very lady like. He even asked if I needed a box and was surprised to see I finished it all! I couldn’t stop eating lol The food was incredible! The only reason my service was rated 4/5 is we never saw our waitress again after our food was dropped off. Not to ask how it was, if we needed a refill, more chips or dessert. We had a couple servers off the clock come try to help and even tried helping intervene with the table taking all her time. They literally had her at their table from the time our food was dropped off until we finally asked someone else for the check after waiting 10 mins after finishing the meal. Honestly it wasn’t her fault, she definitely should have excused herself knowing she had other tables to wait on, but she was just so nice and accommodating to them. I hope the table that took her entire evening up with their Spanish lesson tipped her for her time and effort- since they were 2-3 margs in and probably won’t remember any of it 😂🤦🏼♀️ besides that- we will...
Read moreWe initially wanted to go to the Taste of Philly next door; however, they closed early on a Sunday so...we decided to try Miguel's, as we have never visited and I've been wanting to try it. We've always hesitated in visiting because of the prices, so... we figured... "Let's give em go". We were seated and served right away... the food was hot and fresh, which was nice. Despite being served right away, the service was not necessarily the best. Don't get me wrong, the servers were nice, but a few things to point out...one of the beverage glasses were sticky, we didn't get our silverware until after getting our food and having to ask for it, we were never checked on after being served, we had to get up and ask someone to give us our check and to-go boxes. I know they got a little rush at the time, but they still could have checked on us at least once. The prices for the food was a little steep...16 per plate...we honestly make better Mexican food at home for less and better flavor, but we wanted to give the place a chance. The food was ok, but not worth 16 for chimichangas (and not even getting checked on)...I think 10 per plate... maybe 12, would have been fair. Honestly, I've had better from food trucks that were less. The more and more we go out to eat, the more and more we just regret doing it. Everything costs so much anymore and it's really not worth the cost and not receiving the level of service paying customers should be getting, especially when servers are expecting a tip. This was definitely not the worst in service and quality but, for the price, I was expecting just a little bit better than what we received. I don't think I forsee us coming back...
Read moreWe finally found our Mexican restaurant. If you're looking for GOOD Mexican, this is the place. My wife and I have tried 5 other Mexican restaurants in the Springs, each time sorely disappointed (shoutout to Yoli's food truck though they're great too). I wanted to bring my wife for her birthday to a good Mexican restaurant that met her specifications: creamy (not chunky) and slightly spicy queso blanco, frozen margaritas, and good google reviews, which I would like to contribute to. I got the Mar y Tierra, my wife got the Enchiladas, and our friend bought the barbacoa tacos. Where we have felt cheated at other restaurants for their high prices for subpar cuisine, at Miguel's you get more than you pay for. Bountiful servings of delicious and fresh food coated our table. My Mar y Tierra was packed with flavor, no wilted lettuce or stale rice, everything was a delight to the taste buds. As you can see from the other photos, you can tell their passion for food with their plating methods alone. The peach and raspberry margaritas were great, not too much tequila to kill the fruitiness of the drink - just enough of a kick to not subtract from the tangy/sweet flavor of the drinks. Our waiter was great, I felt more attended here than at most restaurants. My water was never empty, we never waited too long for anything, and he was a lovely gentleman. When we go out for Mexican, you can bet we're going...
