New residents of the Stetson Ridge Apts receive a Papa John's coupon of sorts from the landlords. The coupon details 1 large 1-topping pizza for free, and is signed by a manager of Papa John's. Sounds awesome, right?
NOPE. Turns out that Papa John's does NOT honor these coupons. We (my friends) tried to use the coupon a few days after they moved in to Stetson Ridge and we were told by a manager that "they don't accept those anymore." BUT IT WAS LITERALLY SIGNED BY ONE OF YOUR MANAGERS. Not to mention my friends JUST received it a couple days ago when they moved in. How can you not take those anymore?? Did this change within 48 hours? And if you DON'T take those coupons anymore, why wouldn't you tell the apartment complex so they don't keep handing out coupons to new residents?? Better yet -- WHY would you sign off on the coupon in the first place if you apparently don't take them anymore?? The deception is real here.
The dude I talked to on the phone was rude, and the manager working would not budge on working with us on the coupon, even though 1) my friends literally just received this coupon, and 2) it was signed by a manager at Papa John's. Papa John's did NOT try to do anything to honor their coupon, or to make up for this. They just said, we don't take those anymore. The Papa John's delivery guy even took the coupon from us (luckily we snapped a few pictures before handing it over, just in case Papa John's would try to claim we didn't give a coupon to them) and said they were going to "see what they could do"... Well, apparently there was just NOTHING they could do because I was still charged for the stupid pizza lol. And it wasn't even that good. Boo.
If Papa John's doesn't want to give new residents free pizza, that's FINE. Just say that & redact the coupons! Here's what you should NOT do: have your manager sign off on these coupons, give the coupons to an apartment complex, let that apartment complex hand them out to new residents, and then when the new residents order the free pizza suddenly state you "don't take those coupons anymore." You should be honest about your practices. Don't have more sketch than an Etch-a-Sketch. Instead, you should have openness to feedback, humility to admit mistakes, and honesty in your business.
So it isn't the fact that we were all jipped out of a free pizza -- although that is pretty disappointing in itself -- it's the fact that the TRUST which wasn't firmly established to begin with was immediately broken & they didn't do anything to rectify it. I have worked in the food industry for years & any time we received a complaint, whether it was at a professional wedding banquet hall, or a local coffee shop, or Old Country Buffet, the managers ALWAYS did something to compensate for the customer's inconvenience. Hell, I emailed a simple question to Chipotle a month ago and they sent me 2 free burrito cards for it! It's almost standard practice, you know? So not a good first impression with Papa J's.
1/5 stars for you, Glenn Coco. 1/5...
Read moreYuck! I don't remember Papa Johns Pizza being so nasty. I am disappointed! Its clear now why the NFL kicked Papa Johns to the curb.
I Ordered a Large Original Crust Double Mushroom/Italian Sausage & a Large Thin crust with Canadian Bacon, Bacon & Pineapple. From the looks of the Double Mushroom/Italian Sausage ... they didn't double down on the mushrooms ... and the Canadian Bacon, Bacon Pineapple looks like it got shorted on toppings too.
Its hard to tell though ... seeing how they just piled all the toppings in the middle of the pizza without any regard to even distribution! Most slices barely had any toppings at all, and a few were were piled high. Maybe that's the trick to deceiving your customers.
Beyond that, the website said they would send an email stating the timeline for pick-up .... I spent 5 minutes waiting for the email, but it never came. Called the store and the person answering the phone told me to be there in 5 minutes. Then, when I got to the store, 10 minutes later, they had a hard to making change for the fifty I gave him.
By the time I got home the pizza was cold and the thin crust was like cardboard. Beyond that, the sauce was so sweet, if I didn't know any better, I'd think they sprinkled sugar on the pizza while they were making it.
All in all it was pretty nasty. I don't know if they were just having a bad day, if they're incompetent, if they're sociopaths, or if they just suck at making pizza; but I do not see me ordering another Papa Johns Pizza in the near future. Again, I'd just like to say YUCK!!! I admit I used the 3 topping carry out deal, but still, if they're going to compromise their standards, then maybe they shouldn't offer that deal anymore! Looks like I'll be inviting the nephews over to finish it for Monday Night Football .... cuz I can't bring...
Read moreNever in my life have I been so disrespected by any customer service representative. The head manager, Kathy, sets a tone for unprofessionalism that propagates to the entire staff. The order taker incorrectly thought they delivered to our location. After my card was charged and we had waited 45 minutes for our order we were called and told they couldn't deliver here and to call another store. When we inquired about getting our money back or receiving a discount we were told call another store or the manages and hung up on by the driver Paul. Upon calling the store, the head manager, Kathy, laughed at me being upset I was not receiving a pizza after waiting and paying for it, called me rude, and hung up. The one positive was the order taker Nathan. He incorrectly told us our location could be delivered to, but he was extremely patient, kind, and caring. It might not seem like a big deal (it's just pizza right?) But Papa John's had held a special place in my heart as it had been the pizza place for every girls' night my best friend and I had. She passed away seven years ago, but I've ordered from Papa John's every single time I've had takeout since. I'm very sad to have to end over ten years of faithful service and to taint such a great childhood and...
