Pause sushi lounge is located on Interquest Parkway Drive in Colorado Springs - Interquest has became a new area known for entertainment and new restaurants.
But Pause is amazing! It is located on the top floor (with wheelchair access) of a new restaurant 'strip' - which has multiple other restaurants accompany it. The cool part about this restaurant strip is that all restaurants within it are all owned by the same owner and each is very unique.
Pauses atmosphere is very 'new age'/ avant-garde - high ceilings, beautiful painted murals on the walls, dark blue and dark grey colors and some LED mood lighting - very unique to Colorado Springs area. There is also outdoor seating with a lovely balcony view and some really cool woven swinging chairs & fire pits.
The food: although the menu is small, the food is delicious. But since the menu is small, the food options rotate every so many months - . The dishes themselves are very unique, we had some amazing oysters, Ahi tuna nachos and the dirty girl roll. The cocktails are also unique, delicious and dangerous.
The pricing is a little bit more on the pricier side. But for the experience and to try some very unique Sushi items that Colorado has to offer, I believe this experience is worth it. Especially if it is a special occasion, date night, prom dinner, or any other special occasion - You will definitely enjoy the spot if you are a sushi and...
Read moreUgh..Colorado Springs. You stay saying nightlife here sucks or that there's nowhere to go but then a dope spot like this opens up and people don't go?!?! Beautiful decor. Delicious sushi. Cute cocktails. Dope DJ. Nice staff. Clean. What else could you want? Then when the cute spots close down yall complain. Come out and support these businesses so that others can open up! In ANY other city this place would be packed most nights. Same with The Garden great staff, drinks and ambiance....always empty. IN ANY OTHER CITY that placed would've been PACKED on weekends and for an afterwork drink. And it was on prime real estate downtown. Yall let it close in 1 year. The nightlife habits of the people of Colorado Springs needs to be studied because I just don't get it. Parking is free and entrance is free at Pause. Come out and support them. And no I wasn't paid or asked to write this. I was just SHOCKED to go there this past Friday and see it damn near empty. I lived in NYC for 17 years and djayed at over 40 venues there, I know potential when I see it. This place would be packed...
Read moreAlthough "sushi" isn't in the name of this business, it is a sushi restaurant. At most sushi restaurants, a wine and beer list is provided. Not here. A cocktail list is all you'll find sans prices. Want to pair your yellowtail with Sauvignon Blanc? Too bad. Your only options are Chardonnay and pinot grigio.
The alcohol situation at a so-called lounge isn't the only letdown here. The prices for what you get are the reason this place isn't rated highly on Yelp. Two diners at "happy hour" spent $120+ on two drinks, two appetizers, two rolls, and one nigiri. The place was empty save for one couple at the bar and one in the "lounge".
Atmosphere: There is no overhead lighting, which is fine before sunset. There's not much of a view unless you like staring at the megachurch across the street advertising its Sunday services. The lounge chairs are cool and comfy but the tables are about 5 inches too high for them.
The food, to be fair, is good, but when we asked our server for recommendations, she informed us she was new and had only tried...
