After checking out wine bars in downtown COS on Yelp, we specifically drove (quite a distance) to try Rico's. Sat down at the bar and waited to be helped. someone who walked in at the same time was at the counter ordering coffee so we weren't greeted or helped right away-which was ok. Until a pregnant girl with an ID lanyard around her neck came out from a room behind the bar and looked right through us. Ok...I still have hope that the guy who just made the other customer a coffee will help us. No. He delivers the coffee. Looks right through us multiple times and proceeds to clean the coffee area. No greeting. No offer to help us or find someone who will. After over 10 minutes of being completely ignored we got up and left. Looking back I wish I had brought more attention to the rude sh!tty service (or lack thereof) we received. Funny because there were less than 5 people in there on a Saturday afternoon at 3pm. I will never give this place another shot. Odyssey gastropub across street gave us immediate greeting/service. And there was upwards of 30 customers with 2 employee here too! Horrible...
Read moreI love their single slice pizzas to order! Their pizza slices are huge! I ordered two slices, but one was more than enough. Their pizza crust is nice and crispy on the edges (I prefer crisp pizza over soggy flimsy pizza). They have plenty of vegan options to include a variety of vegan pastries. They do, however, run out of vegan pastries from time to time. I highly recommend the chickpea bar with chocolate chips (I don't remember what it's actually called). They also have a big hot tea menu, which I love! Yhe staff if very friendly and helpful when I've asked for drink and food recommendations. They have a ton of unique cards for almost any occasion, a good selection of books to choose from, and live music on select evenings (check their website). There's plenty of seating and metered parking. Please know that this place can get loud during the evenings, but it personally...
Read moreI really like this venue for listening to local musicians. It's a small stage, but the music makes for a fun date night. I have enjoyed the food here as well. The soups are delicious and made in-house next door. The house dressing for the salad is delightfully light and smooth. It is some kind of balsamic vinaigrette. I tried the pumpkin spice soup and the hearty beef soup. Yum! The pizzas are also quite good. You choose your own toppings, even if you are ordering just a slice. I haven't had their sandwiches or lasagna, but they look good. They also have a nice selection of wine and beer. They do make specialty coffees, but this is far better than a cafe. They are connected to Poor Richards' book store and it is fun to browse through the books and nik naks in the...
