Authentic Mexican cuisine, specializing in birria and offering with unique choices such as birria with ramen and pizza. Google Maps links the menu to a website that is on a parked domain, and there is no way to remove it because there is not a replacement address. The Door Dash menu does not match the in-person menu, and the in-person menu is also confusing because it does not mention the birria ramen and quesabirria each come with three barria tacos, so I almost ordered extra tacos. Furthermore, the menu did not mention the extra charges for the cheese on the birria burrito and the asada meat on the tactos.
When we came in, the cashier handed us menus, which we took to an open table that we picked ourselves. Then we ordered at the cashier, and five minutes later, a nice lady brought our food. The food temperature was perfectly hot, and we all enjoyed the food.
For the quesabirria plate, birria burrito, birria ramen (listed as "Maruchan Con Quesabirrias" on the receipt), and two asada tacos, the subtotal was $49.98 for an average of $17 per person. The POS system suggested tips with large percentages---if I remember correctly, 15% to 30%. The high menu prices, hidden charges, and high tip suggestions are my main complaints.
One wall was painted with nice artwork. In the back, the TV played a telenovela, and it was so loud that it was hard to think. There was a single bathroom, and...
Read moreWe'd seen several comments on this restaurant and decided to give it a try. We've had a lot of Mexican, Tex/Mex food since we winter in the Rio Grande Valley but really have not had the quality of food here that we've had in the RGV. Sofia's Antojitos is really good, but different than we were expecting. The Birria tacos are so good, would order them any time! We also enjoyed the Cubano Torta, which was also different than we'd had before, with hot dogs on the sandwich. It was big enough to take half home for another meal. Forgot to take a picture of the menu, which we can't seem to find online, so forgot the name of the appetizer we had ordered. We've never had ramen at a Mexican restaurant before but had ordered this appetizer (pictured) because it sounded good. It was tasty with the corn/cream mixture at the bottom covered with ramen noodles, surrounded by flavored tortilla chips and covered with cheese, crema and salsa. Interesting flavors to be sure, but we could do without the ramen. Overall, we would try it again with different menu items to get the full experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the dining area was clean, and we had a good meal. It was a little pricey, especially compared to prices in south Texas but in comparison to restaurants in Colorado Springs, right in line. Water is not offered other than paying for it...
Read moreI had heard really good things about this place so I decided to check it out. When we went in it took about 15 minutes to place an order, I saw the lady cooking was by herself so I completely understood why it took a while, no big deal. It was around lunch time so it was quickly getting packed so we sat down to sit and wait for our food. About 15 minutes in, we noticed that there had been several people that were getting food that had ordered way after us but the people that ordered before us and ourselves didn't receive any food. It wasn't until about 30 minutes later after that, where we received food but it wasn't even the correct order. A family member I went with had asked the cook about the food orders being wrong and others receiving their food minutes after ordering and she told her she was not doing any more orders. You could tell she was overwhelmed and I felt bad but it's unfortunate because this was my first time and it wasn't a good experience. We waited almost an hour and didn't get our food. The birria taco I managed to eat was really good and super flavorful but I didn't get to receive even half of...
